Newly leaked Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 renders confirm its upgraded specs

Samsung is holding its next Unpacked launch event on July 22, which is this Wednesday. On that occasion, the company is expected to introduce the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip8, as well as the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2. Today new official-looking (if low-res) renders of the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 have been outed by Evan Blass aka @evleaks.

The renders confirm the fact that the watch will be powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. They also reveal that the watch has an 800 mAh battery and is 12% thinner than its predecessor.

For reference, note that the original Galaxy Watch Ultra is 12.1 mm thick. So with some quick math, this means the upcoming watch will be around 10.6 mm thick. The Watch Ultra2's screen will have 5,000-nit peak brightness. The device will be IP69K rated for dust and water resistance and its frame will be made of titanium.

As you can see, the design has remained similar to the original, with a bunch of tweaks here and there. This will still be very recognizable as a Samsung Ultra smartwatch even from a distance, which is most likely the point of this design language to begin with.
