It definitely has at least one more year in it, probably more like two though. IMHO it's still great. Not too the line, shure, but still more that what would make an average user very happy. You gonna miss out on some of those fancy schmancy AI features that rely on on device processing, but that's a matter of individual preference.

Took suggestion from chatgpt and I had to replace main flex and spin axis cable.I bought the cables from maxbhi and zeespares and replaced the worn cables. Voila my fold is working like new.

Is this a good phone to use in 2026? If I buy it I would love to keep it until atleast early 2028 🥲 The only problems I have with this phone is the terrible exynos modem it has (+ battery drain issues), but it still looks very good

I had to 1st gen Pixel Fold for a while and absolutely loved it. There is truly no foldable on the market that replicates this device's form factor. The closed display is amazingly one-handable and the open display has a much better rectangular feel, closer to that of a standard desktop display.
I love this device because I'm always watching shows or youtube. This device unfolded has almost perfect sizing whereas the newer folds are almost perfect squares. When using the new devices for media viewing, the bezels are genuinely gross and you barely get more real estate than current XL non-folding smartphones.
The negatives of this device in my opinion are the thermals (this phone gets warm often - but not to the detriment of performance) and the build quality of a first gen foldable (bezels, phone crease and hinge are all much better on new gen pixel folds).

Just bought a used pixel fold for approx 450 USD. Quite impressed with the device. Especially the outer screen. Everything seems to be good. For those who can't afford costlier folds I feel Pixel fold is a better choice. You won't be disappointed

even as a big fan of google pixels i dont like this phone. it seems very rushed and cheap, especially for a foldable. if you want a get a google foldable in 2025 get a pixel 9 pro fold.

This why I never purchase expensive phone.
And let's say if I purchase an iPhone from the well known brand Apple; it still costs a lot for warranty and other stuff that they eventually force us to purchase.
I've heard of a story from a guy that purchased a $10k device, and almost lost his device but luckily found it after using find my device or whatever the google feature it is.
And he was complaining that he had real hard time finding the device as the location tracking wasn't as accurate as the one on iPhone.
I was like, hold on a second, you want your device to track your exact location 24/7??
First of all, why would he purchase such an expensive brick? It's good that he can afford it, but I hate dumb people like him saying stuff like that in public and try to market expensive brick and force us to have unnecessary feature such as location / blutooth mesh network tracking 24/7, just my side rant.

Google is not taking responsibility and I have also tried resetting to factory defaults and rolling back manually. They want me to send my phone in for repair even though it is not a hardware issue. I guarantee they would "find" a hardware issue and charge me hundreds to fix it. Alas, I'm still on the hook to pay off the rest of the phone, however, I feel a moral responsibility to not pay them and take them to court over it.

Is anyone facing issues with the device after the software update.
The front screen is not working post the recent update. Did try downgrading to lower version, yet the same issue is prevailing.
can any one help me with some resolution. Dont know whether it is an software issue or an hardware issue

it wasnt very good cause it was googles first shot at foldables. the pro fold is a much needed improvement

I know ... moreI can just feel this was typed out with voice and not by hand, and you couldnt bother fixing the grammar at all. Like, what even is MOLED, or AR OLED. And it being OLED and not AMOLED or whatever doesn't make it any less of a flagship, and I'd be amazed if you can discern OLED and AMOLED just by looking at them. And no, Pixel 8 Pro doesn't have AMOLED, it has an OLED display.

Why did Google have to use OLED instead of a MOLED? I know it is affordable phone, but Samsung uses AR OLED. I would choose Samsung galaxy Ford five, until the Z fold six comes out. That’s if Samsung decides to use OLED like pixel fold. Hopefully the pixel fold to will resolve this issue. I just prefer AMOLED smart phones. Even though it isn’t the big issue for me, I like high-end smart phones, like Samsung Galaxy S2 four ultra in Google pixel eight pro.
