Three years ago, when I joined LHH as President, there was a clear question in front of me: How do we help people and organizations thrive when absolutely everything about work is being redefined?
Today, that question feels more urgent than ever. We’re not just seeing change, we’re living through a full-scale talent revolution. AI is transforming how work gets done, creating new roles while making others disappear. People want more from their jobs—not just a paycheck, but purpose, flexibility, and growth. 1moDear Gaëlle, Isn’t it an unrealistic idealization, almost sarcastic to call work ‘beautiful’? Of course, work is not always beautiful. If it is exploitative, meaningless, or disconnected from personal fulfillment, toxic and bad leadership can make work dehumanizing and stressful. ‘The beauty’ of work or good work is tied to autonomy, purpose, and appreciation. Then work might have the potential to be beautiful. But still its ‘beauty’ depends on how it is structured, perceived, and experienced individually by each of us. Awareness and acknowledgment of the complexities, challenges, struggles and difficulties of work are required to enable development, learning, and happy moments. Sometimes ‘marketing language’ can create the opposite effect than the initial intent. Best, Katharina
