There are two different ways to build agents with Microsoft Copilot Studio. ✨One is a lite experience that sits inside Microsoft 365 Copilot (formerly known as agent builder), which is designed for personal productivity and everyday business users. ✨The other is the full Copilot Studio agent building platform, where you can build low-code agents for internal or customer facing scenarios or to automate business processes. They use the same name. But they do very different things. The simple table I use to pick 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗗𝗔'𝘀 (and ditch the fluff) Everyone's talking about integrating Copilot into their Microsoft applications. In many cases, Microsoft's already done that for you. But in Dynamics 365/Model-Driven Apps, you can turn a lot of these features off (or on). I'm a huge advocate for turning off anything that your users don't find valuable or aren't using. Ultimately, they're the ones using the application, and you want to make the experience as seamless for them as possible (removing all the fluff is a big part of that). But when you 𝙖𝙧𝙚 looking for opportunities to adopt AI & Copilot, where do you even start? Well, I've broken it down with this simple table, identifying the key areas where you can adopt Copilot/AI in your Model-Driven Apps. They are: 1. Copilot Chat 2. Agent Feed 3. Agent APIs In Forms 4. Generative Pages 5. "Support" Agents Hope you can use this when you start exploring the options available to you. 🚀🤖 Call Agents from Power Automate and wait for response! ⏳ Some workflows need to use agent outputs immediately—to make decisions, chain multiple agents, or extract structured data for the next step. We built a sample that makes this possible by pairing a Custom Connector with an Azure Function. The function uses the M365 Agents SDK, waits for the full agent response, and returns it synchronously to Power Automate or Power Apps. 💡 Example – IT Service Requests 1️⃣ Employee Request – An employee submits a request for a new IT service 2️⃣ Parallel Agent Calls – Two agents run at the same time: • Eligibility Agent – Checks if the requester meets policy conditions • Approver Agent – Finds the right approvers 3️⃣ Send request for approval – Combines both results, then routes to approval and waits for the approver's response With this approach, you can: ✅ Chain multiple agents in sequence or run them in parallel ✅ Build conditional, data-driven workflows ✅ Manage process state (e.g. wait for an approval) It takes a bit more setup than your average custom connector… but who knows, maybe one day the built-in connector will just do it for us 😉 Check out the open-source sample + setup guide: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dVddxDE5 #CopilotStudio #PowerPlatform #PowerAutomate #Agents #Automation
