Yesterday’s breach of several Government of Kenya websites is a strong reminder that cyber threats are becoming more aggressive, more coordinated, and more disruptive. No institution, public or private, is immune. As digital transformation accelerates across Africa, our attack surface grows just as quickly. This incident underscores a critical truth: we must continuously evolve our cybersecurity posture to match the speed and sophistication of modern threat actors. At The Africa Cyber & Fintech Innovation Summit, we advocate for: -Proactive security investments -Continuous monitoring and threat intelligence -Resilient digital infrastructure across public and private sectors -Capacity building and cybersecurity skills development Attacks are automated, so should our defenses #Cybersecurity #Cyberattack #Cyberresilience #DataProtection #ZeroTrust #GovermentSecurity #Cyberawereness #TACFIS

The TACFIS Mandate: RegTech is Your Growth Engine. Stop viewing regulation as a barrier. The only way to securely scale FinTech across Africa's fragmented markets is through proactive RegTech partnerships. Invest to automate compliance, build regulatory trust, and unlock faster regional expansion 🌐🔐 #RegTech #FinTechStrategy #MarketAccess #TACFIS2025

CYBER RISK ALERT: Stop Mistaking Awareness for Action. The greatest vulnerability in Africa's rapidly growing FinTech sector isn't technology, it's the human firewall. Leaders are confident, yet employee security behavior lags dangerously behind the sophistication of modern threats (phishing, deepfakes, etc.). "Awareness is not readiness. FinTech leaders must close the gap between their confidence in cyber defenses and the actual security behavior of their employees." #HumanRisk #FinTechSecurity #CyberAwareness #AfricaTech #EmployeeTraining

Summit (TACFIS 2025) confirmed a core reality: Scaling Africa's digital economy requires a united defense. Isolated growth is impossible. Leaders must prioritize these 3 non-negotiable alliances to secure future growth and resilience: 1. Regulator-FinTech: Shift from mere compliance to co-creation of secure, innovation-friendly regulatory frameworks (e.g., dedicated sandboxes). Goal: Rapid, de-risked market entry. 2. Cyber-Tech Integration: Embed specialized cyber partners into product development (DevSecOps). Security is no longer an IT cost, but a core product feature. Goal: Proactive threat defense. 3. Cross-Market Standards: Partner across borders to standardize security protocols. Leverage global data governance models but demand local, mobile-first solutions. Goal: Seamless, secure pan-African expansion. The future of African FinTech is collaborative. Secure your alliance network to secure your market share. 🌍🔐 #TACFIS2025 #FinTechStrategy #CyberResilience #PartnershipForGrowth

This is a strong call to strengthen cyber defenses, review incident response plans, and ensure teams are equipped to act quickly. Prioritize resilience, cybersecurity is no longer optional. #TACFIS
Cyberattack Disrupts European Airports – A Wake-Up Call for Critical Infrastructure On September 19–20, 2025, a cyberattack targeting check-in and boarding software crippled operations at major European airports including Heathrow, Brussels, Berlin, and Dublin. 🔻 The Impact: ➡️ Check-in, boarding, and baggage systems went offline ➡️ Airports reverted to manual processing, causing massive queues ➡️ Dozens of flights were delayed or cancelled, with some airports scrapping nearly half of departures to manage backlog This incident shows how dependent aviation and critical infrastructure at large have become on third-party digital systems. The Way Forward: ➡️ Build redundancy & robust manual fallback procedures ➡️ Secure & audit third-party vendor systems ➡️ Strengthen real-time monitoring & incident response ➡️ Train staff with regular cyber-resilience drills ➡️ Invest in modern, security-by-design infrastructure This incident reminds us cybersecurity is not just an IT issue. It’s an operational continuity and reputation management issue. https://lnkd.in/dKkGKWJa #Cyberattack #Cybersecurity #CriticalInfrastructure #Aviation #Cybersec #TACFIS #EVAD
