Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoFrom Naidex to EXPOSANITA' International Health Care Exhibition. Adaptive equipment is complex. Selling it shouldn’t be. See you in Bologna (Apr 22–24) to discover how Missoun simplifies configuration and sales: https://lnkd.in/dZn26AhhMichele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementohttps://lnkd.in/dhm-pUFb At Naidex this week, it’s clear how complex adaptive products are, and how outdated the sales tools still are: PDFs, spreadsheets, static images, manual quoting. Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoWe are introducing AI to support sales reps and dealers in making complex configurations. A modern truck can have 5,000 configurable options. No human can remember all of them. Not even the best sales rep ever. When sales can’t find the right one fast enough, they write: “Custom modification.” And the party starts: • Engineering rework • Cost uncertainty • Lead time variability • Margin erosion And often, the requested option already exists inside the list of configuration options. The problem in configurable highly complex products isn’t customization. It’s discoverability. We’re introducing AI to help sales reps and dealers navigate the noise, find the right specs in seconds, and keep "custom" for when it’s actually necessary.Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elemento“Custom” is a dangerous word in truck manufacturing. Not because flexibility is wrong, but because complexity is invisible. A modern truck can have 5,000 configurable options. When sales can’t find the right one fast enough, they write: “Custom modification.” That single shortcut can trigger: • Engineering rework • Cost uncertainty • Lead time variability • Margin erosion And often, the requested option already exists inside the validated configuration library. The problem isn’t customization. It’s discoverability. In our latest article, we explain how AI Product Configuration for truck manufacturers: - Uses natural language to navigate thousands of options - Prevents unnecessary custom requests - Protects margin at quote stage - Turns 3D CPQ into a margin control engine Including a real €300,000 truck scenario where margin dropped from 12% to 6%. If you sell configurable trucks or heavy equipment, this shift from “custom” to “controlled configurability” changes everything. Read our last article on this topic and let us know!

Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoIf you manufacture motorcycles and manage complex configurations globally, this is worth your attention. It is not just about adding 3D to your website. J. SRLMichele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoYour motorcycle are premium. Is your sales process? For global OEMs like Ducati, BMW Motorrad or KTM, a website configurator is not a marketing feature. It is a commercial control system. The real challenge is not rendering a bike in 3D. It is aligning marketing, dealers, pricing and engineering under one consistent logic. Missoun connects the showroom to the shop floor. When a rider can visualize every detail in real time and configure the exact bike they want, they move from browsing to deciding. That is where conversion increases and higher-margin options become part of the sale. At the same time, pricing is governed centrally. No spreadsheets. No back-and-forth emails. No manual errors that erode margin. Every configuration follows engineering rules. Every quote reflects approved pricing. Every dealer works from the same source of truth, across countries, currencies and languages. This is not just about adding 3D to your website. Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoThis isn’t digital transformation jargon, it’s commercial acceleration: it can change how you sell, and how you protect margin. We keep seeing sales teams: - searching through thousands of options - pulling engineering into “custom” requests that already exist - losing margin without even noticing And everyone calls it normal. But every configuration bottleneck is a margin leak. 3D CPQ isn’t about 3D. It’s about protecting: • conversion rate • deal size • quote speed • gross margin Improve them together and the impact compounds. Take 5 minutes to read this. It’s worth it:Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoIn companies making and selling complex products, growth is rarely limited by demand. It’s limited by configuration friction: - Manual quoting - Engineering bottlenecks - Slow dealer response - 10–25% error rates - Weeks to validate a configuration. And in most organizations, this is considered normal. In our new whitepaper "The Financial Impact of 3D CPQ in Complex Manufacturing" we explain why 3D CPQ is not a visualization tool. It’s a gross profit engine. When you improve simultaneously: • Conversion rate • Average deal size • Quote throughput • Cost per sale The impact compounds. More deals. Larger deals. Faster cycles. Lower cost per sale. - Revenue rises. - Cost per revenue unit falls. - Margins expand. That’s not digital transformation. That’s commercial acceleration. If you sell configurable products, this framework may change how you evaluate CPQ, from cost center to revenue platform. Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoIn products as complex as a gas turbine, the "handshake" between Sales and Operations is everything. But usually, they speak two different languages: - Sales speaks in features, customer needs, and options (SBOM). - Planning speaks in lead times, constraints, and part numbers (PBOM). Without a "guardrail" between them, this gap becomes a vacuum for errors. If Sales promises a configuration that Operations can’t fulfill (or hasn't even sourced), you’ve hit a bottleneck. 3D CPQ acts as that digital guardrail by enforcing rules in real-time: - Engineering-Validated Selling: If a turbine blade alloy isn't compatible with a specific casing, the salesperson physically cannot click it. - Instant Translation: Once the 3D model is finalized, the system generates the Planning BOM baseline. No more "Can we actually build this?" emails. - S&OP Alignment: Planners see exactly what’s coming down the pipe with 100% accuracy, grounded in production reality rather than vague forecasts. It turns a "handover" into a real-time handshake. Contact us at Missoun if you would like to handle the bridge between Sales and Planning with automated rules rather Manual spreadsheets, to save time and money!Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoIn complex manufacturing, the real bottleneck isn’t demand. It’s misalignment between what Sales sells and what Operations can build. When products have thousands of configurations, the transition between Sales BOM and Planning BOM becomes critical. In our latest article, we explain: - Why these two BOMs follow different logics - Where configuration errors typically start - How Missoun 3D CPQ creates a real digital thread between commercial intent and production execution 3D CPQ isn’t just visualization, it’s alignment.Mastering Complexity: How Sales & Planning BOMs (and 3D CPQ) Transform ManufacturingMastering Complexity: How Sales & Planning BOMs (and 3D CPQ) Transform ManufacturingMissoun

Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoThe forklift world is moving way too fast for manual spreadsheets. Configuring a unit isn't as simple as picking a color. Between mast heights, battery types, and safety codes, it’s a lot for anyone to keep straight! When dealers get stuck waiting on engineering for answers, everything just... stops. I’m sharing this because 3D CPQ is finally making life easier for everyone. It bridges the gap between the "techy" side and the sales side so we can get things right the first time. Check out the breakdown below on how we're making the process a whole lot smoother!Michele Sciuto ha condiviso questo elementoForklifts may look standardized. They are not. Behind every unit is a mountain of variables: - Mast types vs. lift heights - Li-ion vs. Lead-acid integrations - Specialized attachments (Clamps, rotators, shifters) - Region-specific safety mandates For dealers, this complexity usually means friction. Slow quotes, less orders, and endless back-and-forth with engineering. 3D CPQ isn't a marketing gimmick, it's a guardrail. By connecting PLM data to a visual configurator: - Zero Errors: Only feasible combos can be clicked. - Speed: Dealers quote in minutes, not days. - Trust: Customers see exactly what they are buying. In material handling, 3D CPQ is about industrial accuracy at sales speed. How is your team handling complex configurations today? Michele Sciuto ha consigliato questo elementoMichele Sciuto ha consigliato questo elementoAfter watching @NetworkChuck's video "You Need to Learn MCP RIGHT NOW!! (Model Context Protocol)", I couldn't stop thinking about what this could mean for manufacturing. So I built one. I've created an MCP with Claude Code (@Anthropic) that automatically creates work orders inside our MES system, Opcenter Execution Discrete (@Siemens). Instead of manually entering data from planning tools into Opcenter, this agent: - Connects to Opcenter's API via an MCP server - Takes a natural-language request (e.g., "create a work order for X part, qty Y") - Validates rules, checks capacity, and pushes the work order into Opcenter in seconds In the video below, you'll see Claude in action — taking a plain-language task, generating the right API calls, and creating the work order end-to-end. No manual copy-paste, no extra screens. Why this matters for manufacturing IT and MES teams: - AI that can write to your MES — not just read from it — opens a completely new set of possibilities - Agentic workflows mean the system acts, not just advises - The interface becomes natural language — accessible to anyone on the shop floor or in planning The next frontier isn't dashboards. It's AI that takes action inside your production systems. Would you use an MCP like this to automate other MES flows? What's the first transaction you'd hook up after work-order creation? P.S. I've already been experimenting with CoWork (@Anthropic) to trigger work-order creation automatically from different event sources — stay tuned for the next video! #ClaudeCode #MCP #AgenticAI #AIAgents #Manufacturing #MES #Industry40 #SmartManufacturing

Working on Mosaico at Dilica, we're constantly thinking about the best foundational technologies for robotics, especially when it comes to memory management. In robotics and other certifiable systems, a typical solution for ensuring predictable performance is memory pre-allocation. With C++, the approach is familiar. It offers direct control over memory, much like C, so managing pre-allocated buffers is relatively simple and gives the developer full command. Rust, on the other hand, provides the incredible safety benefits of the borrow checker. However, lifetimes can be a real pain to manage, particularly when dealing with slices and references into a large, pre-allocated memory region. This brings me to my question for the community: Are you using Rust or C++ in your robotics work? How do you manage the specific issue of pre-allocation to balance safety guarantees with code complexity and developer ergonomics? Curious to hear about the patterns and practices you've found most effective.
