“Young people are an extraordinary force for positive discontinuity, capable of challenging what we take for granted and opening up new perspectives.” This is the message shared this morning by our Chairman Alessandro Benetton at Festival Economia Trento — one of Italy’s leading forums for dialogue on economy, society and the future — in conversation with Fabio Tamburini, Editor-in-Chief of Il Sole 24 Ore. Edizione’s commitment to investing in young people comes to life by enabling opportunities where they can grow, learn and contribute with their own perspective. Across the Group, which employs more than 100,000 people, around one third are under 30 years of age and 50% are women. This vision is reflected across our portfolio, where young talent plays an increasingly central role in enabling innovation and change — by listening to the real needs of younger generations and turning them into concrete opportunities that can strengthen their future. #PassionForChangingFutures

Yesterday, a special event took us into the future: the inauguration of the extension of Terminal 2 at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport, managed by Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur (ACA), part of our portfolio company Mundys Group. Our Chairman Alessandro Benetton attended the celebration together with HSH Prince Albert Il of Monaco, Philippe TABAROT, Minister of Transport, Eric Ciotti, Mayor of Nice, and the majority shareholder of ACA. In his speech he highlights how Nice holds a special historical significance as a natural connection between Italy and France, a place where cultures and ideas converge and where we have been operating critical infrastructure for more than 10 years with unwavering commitment. The Nice's Terminal 2 is not just a physical extension, it is a concrete action to bring future-proof infrastructure to life and contribute to the development of the region, that represents a major tourism and business destination in the country. As industrial investors, our role as Edizione is to go beyond the short-term numbers and create long-term value in collaboration with local and national institutions. As Alessandro Benetton stated: "The aim is to create benefits and shared value for all: for airports' business models, making them more efficient, and for the sustainable development of local communities in terms of better connections and economic growth". #PassionForChangingFutures

We have signed an agreement with Benetton Rugby Treviso and #ComunediTreviso for the construction of the new South Stand at Monigo Municipal Stadium. This investment will allow us to modernize and enhance a key sports infrastructure for the city and the surrounding area, providing Treviso with a facility that is increasingly modern, functional, and suited to the international competitions in which Benetton Rugby Club plays a leading role. The new stand will also be able to host a wide range of events, including concerts and public initiatives. #PassionForChangingFutures

"How would you describe your future in one word?" This is the question that "Unfiltered: Voci Generazionali", the new permanent Observatory on youth in Italy promoted by Unhate Foundation, which we proudly support as Institutional Supporter, asked 1,500 young people aged 13 to 24. The result is the research study that shows that being young today isn’t always easy, and it also means dealing with fragility: 24% of young Italians see the world as frightening, they feel overwhelmed, but 17% are confident and proactive, young people who see opportunities and face complexity without fear. As companies, but more as humans and citizens, we are called to listen to young people, to promote spaces where they can belong, and to support social activation and programs that reduce inequalities and give everyone the chance to grow together. The research was led by Fondazione Poetica and it was published as “FRAGILE – mappae mundi di una nuova generazione”. Watch the video for more.
