Most deep-techs in India do not die in the lab; they die on the way to the factory floor. It is this gap that Nasscom Deeptech's Industry 4.0 Accelerate program is trying to close, and the Deeptech Confluence 2026 in Delhi was the room where both sides of the gap were present at the same time. Founders building for heavy industry on one side, the enterprises and policy stakeholders who decide what actually gets deployed on the other. We are in the second cohort. The Confluence was a checkpoint on what the cohort is being asked to prove, which is not the technology. The harder question is whether the technology survives contact with a production line that cannot stop, a procurement cycle that does not bend, and an operator who has watched a decade of pilots fail. It is this question that the heavy industry has been waiting for deep tech to answer. Congratulations to Srinath Ravichandran, Moin SPM, Satya Chakravarthy, and the Agnikul team for completing a four-engine cluster test AgniKul Cosmos has now demonstrated a fully synchronized system with 8 pumps, 8 motors, and 8 speed-control algorithms ensuring uniform startup, stable operation, and precise shutdown across all engines. Each engine is 3D-printed as a single piece and designed entirely in-house, powered by electric motor-driven pumps. This test builds on their earlier three-engine cluster trial and marks a significant progression in scaling private launch vehicle propulsion in India. Congratulations to Abhijit Chaudhary, Founder & CEO, Dr. Inder Gopal, Founder & Chairman, and the Niral Networks team for completing the North Central Railway (NCR) Private 5G Pilot on the Mathura-Bhuteshwar corridor Niral Networks, a part of Nasscom Deeptech Club program, together with Tejas Networks (5G RAN) and Consort Digital (MCX One), successfully enabled India’s first mission-critical 5G voice and video calls for locomotives, dispatchers, and station radios. The pilot, technically validated by RDSO- Indian Railways, demonstrated reliable loco-to-ground connectivity and high-performance throughput (35 Mbps downlink, 20+ Mbps uplink) on a stable, distributed 5G core and NMS architecture.
