“Smita is an excellent techno-functional manager. She was my direct reporting manager for over a year during my 1st project in the AWS BU in TCS, and she excelled at that role. Even though the project was on critical path right from the poc phase we did to bag it, all the way till 1 year after the 1st production roll out and several subsequent go-lives, Smita was always there for the team, making sure none of us got overwhelmed due to the long working hours, weekend working etc. Apart from performing this delivery partner role for multiple such critical projects, she herself used to learn new functionalities of AWS and had built her own automated projects management dashboard using it, showing her technical prowess. And to top that, she would always be on the lookout for internal challenges posted on forums like tata world, bring your own rapid etc, where she would engage her teams which had some bandwidth, so that they also learnt new skills and also delivered solutions to other units of tcs and tata. Finally, as a person, she is someone who likes to stay in touch with all her team members long after they might be out of her direct reporting structure, just to guide and mentor them whenever they need her help.
