This week, police dismantled a sophisticated international fraud network that had been operating in plain sight — in commercial buildings, in professional office setups, with trained teams of "openers" and "closers" running shifts like a legitimate business. Their weapon was something most of us see every day. A pop-up on a computer screen. It looked exactly like a Microsoft security alert. "Warning: Your computer has been compromised. Call this number immediately." The screen would freeze. The victim would panic. They would call the number. And on the other end — a trained fraudster using professional calling software, ready with a script, ready with fake credentials, ready to extract every rupee from someone who was simply trying to protect their computer. This is what organised cyber fraud looks like in 2026. Not a lone hacker in a dark room. A professionally run operation. Shifts. Teams. Roles. Hierarchy. Hawala operators to move the money. Luxury vehicles parked outside. The police commissioner described it as "another Jamtara in the making." But the ambulance won’t move without money. This is the reality of emergency healthcare in India. Until Blinkit said: “Not anymore.” The experiment that quietly became a movement In January 2024, Albinder Dhindsa launched a free ambulance service in Gurugram. Not as a PR campaign. Not as a CSR headline. As an experiment. The goal: Test whether emergency medical assistance could be delivered faster. Scaled faster. Protected margins. Kept shareholders happy. Instead, they asked a harder question: “What else can our 10-minute infrastructure solve?” And they chose one of the most complex problems in the country: Emergency healthcare. No loud announcements.
