The value of our intellect, irony of being Bhishma and modern-day soldier
The Times of India
See publicationThe biggest difference between Humans and other species is intellect, our ability to think and sense of discrimination.
The humans can use their intellect to find out what is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ for them, definitely from their point of view. I am not talking about what is really right or wrong, because that’s subjective. -

Think Epic, is a work of nonfiction, a self-help book that walks you through various unexplored terrains of life experiences. It is a journey in the aisle of the human mind where rigid facts about conditioning are unveiled, the concept of cognitive errors is scrutinized and the impact of digital technology on the human mind is thoroughly described. It breaks the stereotypical influences that regulate human behavior and help humans to rewire their mind towards a life which is not controlled by the others. The book is cathartic, may answer all of your doubts, or may end up raising some new ones. It deals with human’s tendency to bog down, to be indecisive, to be fearful and most importantly to be influenced. The book churns the preconceived ideologies and lets you see your life, your intellect, and logic through a fresh lens. You may feel challenged on your decision-making abilities, you may end up questioning your intelligence quotient, or maybe amused by reading the whole new perspective of motivation. This book is an attempt to enlighten your articles of faith, push you out of your comfort zone of a know-it-all and let you question the knowns. Think Epic emphasizes the fact that true wisdom lies in the crux of Right Questions and not Answers

Down under – Not ‘down and out’
The Times of India
See publicationHad you told me before start of the series that India would collapse at 36 in first test and would go on to win the next test without Kohli and Shami; I might have asked “what are you smoking”?
Had you told me that Mohammad Siraj would lead the bowling attack in 4 th test along with Shardul, Saini & Natarajan; I might have said “I want to smoke what you are smoking”. -
Finding your own path
The Times of India
See publicationFinding your own life path involves deep understanding of the subject and decision making at every moment of the life. The weapons of mass distraction
The Times of India
See publicationYes, you read it right, it’s ‘distraction’ and not ‘destruction’. A lot has been written & discussed on weapons of mass destruction and how hazardous these are for humanity. However, we being unaware of the threat, ‘distraction’ is even more dangerous in the longer run.
“If destruction fails to entangle us, distraction will do its best”. Beth Moore -

‘When the world’s in crisis, we need ‘Grief Leaders.’ – Washington Post

Rise of uncapped stars and pace prodigies

This IPL season has been challenging for some teams in terms of the unavailability of few key players, because of the pandemic, and has disturbed the team compositions and they are still trying to find their best eleven. Though this has come as an opportunity for some youngsters who have got more chances than usual IPL campaign and some of them have been remarkable in grabbing the opportunities with both hands. -
FEAR – Our love for horror movies
The Times of India
See publicationFear is essentially the stories we tell ourselves and for the visual thinkers, it’s the movies we keep playing in our heads. In case we ask people about their interest in watching horror movies, in all likelihood very few would answer in the affirmative. Despite huge disinterest in real horror movies, we still keep viewing & experiencing horror movies in our heads.

Despite huge disinterest in real horror movies, we still keep viewing & experiencing horror movies in our heads.
All our Fears & Worries are those horror movies we are producing and playing on loop. And the number of movies we produce easily outnumbers the productions by any Bollywood or Hollywood giant production house. The only difference is we don’t have any audience for our makings as others are busy watching their own creations. -

In the ongoing editions of IPL, It’s again the major talking point for some cricket experts and they have been airing their views on Retiring out the batsman in case he is struggling in the middle to score freely.
Premises
The recent example is Match no. 9 of IPL between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab. While chasing mammoth total of 223 Royals were in driving seat till 8.3 overs despite losing Buttler early. Upon losing Smith’s wicket Royals promoted Rahul Tewatia and he was given a chance to bat at number 4.
The promotion of Rahul surprised many but that’s not the concern here. The issue is he was unable to set the stage on fire initially and rather struggled to strike the ball and even rotate the strike. The ghost of past came alive for Royal fans like Indian fans faced in these instances; Jadeja in 2009, Vijay Shankar in Nidahas trophy and Yuvraj Singh in 2014 WC final. -
