Tata Communications has joined forces with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build an advanced AI-ready, high-capacity network connecting AWS infrastructure hubs in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Announced on Tuesday, this national long-haul network aims to accelerate the adoption of generative AI and cloud innovation across sectors like healthcare, finance, and education in India. "AI is transforming industries globally, and our collaboration with AWS positions us at the forefront of this revolution in India," said Genius Wong, Executive Vice President at Tata Communications. "By building a tailored network solution, we're ushering in an AI era in India, reinforcing our position as the long-term partner of choice for global technology leaders." Described as Tata Communications’ largest-ever National Long-Distance program, the initiative demonstrates the company’s capability to handle large-scale, high-capacity projects. It will provide businesses across India with the infrastructure needed to build, train, and deploy AI and machine learning workloads efficiently. Jesse Dougherty, VP for Network Edge Services at AWS, added, "The infrastructure is designed to support the most data-intensive workloads, like 5G, generative AI, and high-performance computing. Recognizing the opportunity to create impact, volunteers from Oracle Health Solutions collaborated with Embassy Charitable Trust and the NGO, The Ugly Indian, to transform a Government school in Sonnapanahalli, North Bangalore.
