Excited to share that I recently joined Fractal as Senior Technical Project Manager - Data Engineering. The journey in this Big Data domain has been filled with lot of new milestones and exposure over years. Once started with working on on-premise tools to upgrading myself on Azure Databricks, Data Factory and AWS cloud services; I worked on multiple complex data projects over years and also received lot of appreciations. Learnings from Sumit Sir’s Data Engineering course, helped me in every stage of my career and in every new challenging assignment. All this growth over years has been because of choosing Data Engineering domain to build my career. Thanking everyone who supported me in this journey and special thanks to Sumit Sir. Looking forward to contribute my best in this new role at Fractal.

I am beyond thrilled to share that I have joined Microsoft as a Data Engineer and AI Consultant. Entering IT domain with a degree from Tier-3 college, I was pushed back for a moment seeing millions of people with almost the same skills like me. The only way out to get myself into a place where my work gets recognized, was to Upskill. Wanting to be best at what I do, I started mastering the Data Engineering tech stack. Getting into in-depth learning of around Pyspark, optimisation techniques, Azure Databricks and more from Sumit Mittal ’s Data Engineering program helped me perform, grow and also get appreciations. With big dreams, the chase continued to crack a role in a product-based company. Joining Microsoft is a dream come true, specially when I look back at the point from where the journey started. Thanking my family for the blessings, my friends for keeping me motivated. A big gratitude to Sumit Sir for being a teacher who literally changed my life with his teachings. If there’s one thing I have learned; Dream big, stay consistent with your efforts - and one day, you will watch those dreams turn into reality.

From ETL systems and on-premise tools, these students took their career to next level by mastering cloud services. Sablok K. joined Zensar Technologies with 100% salary hike as a Databricks Solution Architect. Durga Prasad joined Xebia as Senior Data Engineer Consultant with 60% hike. Both had multiple offers and could select the company basis their project alignment and compensation. Do remember, all this didn’t happen overnight. It is the result of their hard work, zeal to learn and grow and take their career to newer heights. So proud of both my students and I wish them very best in their new role. There is something important happening in Data Engineering right now. And it is not a shift. It is an expansion. Earlier Data Engineers were building pipelines to move and transform data. That responsibility is not going anywhere. In fact, it is becoming even more critical. Now Gen AI is adding another layer on top of it. From preparing clean datasets to making that data usable for LLMs From managing storage to enabling semantic search From ETL pipelines to supporting RAG systems But the foundation remains the same. Without strong data pipelines none of this works. Gen AI does not replace Data Engineering. It depends on it. It amplifies it. If you are a Data Engineer, you are not being left behind. You are being given a bigger role. The opportunity now is to build on top of what you already know and extend it into Gen AI. The most common mistake I see professionals making with Gen AI is thinking they need to understand the complex math behind Transformers before they can build anything useful. They are no longer just spectators in meetings about AI. They are the ones suggesting the architecture.
