Data without design is just noise, and design without data is just decoration. Reflecting on the recent panel discussion on Data Visualisation and Analytics at MIT ADT University, one thing is clear: Most data today is seen, but not understood. We've placed too much emphasis on algorithms and not enough on Design—how individuals actually interact with that intelligence. To build true "Frictionless Wisdom," we need a shift from Exploratory Data to Explanatory Intent. When we apply Design Thinking, we stop asking "What data do we have?" and start asking "What decision is the user trying to make?". Instead of making users go on a "scavenger hunt" through a dashboard, the design should anticipate their questions.
