Hello Everyone, Last weekend, I was watching a movie and came across the FLAMES logic. That got me thinking — why not build the same using T-SQL? It’s a fun reminder that even simple mini-projects can sharpen logical thinking, improve problem-solving skills, and help you get more creative with T-SQL. https://lnkd.in/gzDEr7CW #SQLServer #TSQL #DatabaseAdministration #DBA #Programming #CodingChallenge #SQLDeveloper #TechLearning #MicrosoftSQLServer #ProblemSolving

Make SQL Performance Tuning Easier in SSMS 22.6.0 With Statistics Parser If you’ve worked on SQL Server performance tuning, you know how difficult it can be to read raw IO and execution time output from query analysis. Recently explored the StatisticsParser Extension for SSMS, and it makes performance troubleshooting much simpler. 1.Converts performance output into an easy-to-read tabular format 2.Makes identifying performance bottlenecks easier 3.Saves time for DBAs and developers Sometimes, small tools make a huge difference in daily productivity. Have you used any SSMS extensions that genuinely improved your workflow? https://lnkd.in/g4JYti74 #SQLServer #SSMS #PerformanceTuning #SQLDBA #QueryOptimization #DatabaseAdministration #TSQL #DBA #MicrosoftSQLServer #StatisticsParser

Hi @Everyone, I have a habit of building home labs for every MS SQL Server version that gets released. While working on a demo video, I noticed that the new version of VMware VMware Workstation Pro is now free, and no serial key is required anymore. #MSSQLServer #SQLServer #DBA #SQLDBA #HomeLab #VMware #VMwareWorkstation #Virtualization #DatabaseAdministration #TechLearning #LabSetup #SQLServerLearning #ITInfrastructure #DemoVideo #LearningByDoing

Hi Everyone, We faced an interesting scenario related to Row-Level Security (RLS) in Microsoft Fabric. The user was able to retrieve data correctly when querying through SSMS, because the RLS policies were applied based on the user’s region access. However, when the same data was accessed through ADF, the user was receiving blank results. This happened because the connection from ADF was configured using a Service Principal (SPN) Initially, we granted the SPN with Admin access and also added it as a user access Rls table, but the issue still persisted. During a troubleshooting call, we ran the following query to identify the actual identity hitting the SQL endpoint: SELECT CURRENTUSER 124ffjfdhj@gjkmvtjkmbgg later we identify the first was spn id and second part was tennet id <SPN_ID>@<TENANT_ID> After adding this exact identity combination into the UserAccess table used by the RLS logic, the issue was resolved and the user was able to retrieve the data successfully through ADF. Root Cause: ADF was authenticating through the Service Principal, and the SPN identity was not mapped in the RLS access table, causing the query to return blank results. Resolution: Added the SPN_ID@TENANT_ID identity into the RLS access table.
