Our latest student article looks at how algorithms shape what we see and what creators choose to make. When reach and income depend on views and engagement, many creators stick to trends and familiar formats instead of experimenting. New ideas still exist, but they don’t always get the same visibility. Using research on the creator economy, AI tools, and platform data, the piece questions whether creativity is disappearing or simply being pushed aside by systems that reward what already works. Written by vikhyaat chawla Nishtha Jagwani, Ananya Vijith it asks a simple question: is the problem a lack of originality, or a system that struggles to notice it?
