I reached the event at Workiee Tech Park by 4:55 pm, excited yet a little nervous. As 5:05 passed, I saw Torsten Kreiling casually chatting nearby. Immediately, my mind whispered, "He's German. Must be judging our relaxed Indian timing." Torsten shared powerful insights into European startup expansion—cultural differences, Germany’s aging population needing Indian talent, and how German government agencies even sponsor startups to visit and learn. But my heart raced faster during Q&A. A question has been bothering me—why do Indian startups focus mostly on marketplaces or gaming while China builds revolutionary tech like WeChat or TikTok? I emailed Torsten earlier about this. When my turn came, I nervously read out my question. He smiled warmly and replied, "It's complex, and many factors are involved.
