I added the new Israeli Proptech startup landscape by TLV Partners to my 2025 collection on VC Cafe. There are over 200+ Israeli startups operating in the proptech sector (including a number of unicorns). The new crop of AI-first startups are penetrating every layer of the tech stack - from elevating the tenant experience and enabling predictive maintenance, to construction site monitoring and delivering AI-driven infrastructure insights. 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝟱𝟬–𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁-𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝘁. 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? Last week I had the amazing opportunity to hear Marty Cagan live at Yotpo. They brought him to Israel for a week-long transformation workshop led by CEO Tomer Tagrin., and generously opened the sessions to leaders from other companies as well. Marty couldn’t understand why more companies don’t invest in 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆: fast, lightweight prototyping that’s now quicker than ever with AI tools. The process starts by validating prototypes with internal stakeholders - engineering, marketing, sales, and the CEO, and then moving on to customers, prospects, or design partners. This way, 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗲. Marty shared this 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗵: Most startups need 50-100 iterations to reach product-market fit. If each iteration takes weeks, you’ll likely run out of money before you reach product-market fit. If you can do tens of prototypes a week, validate quickly, and adjust fast, your odds skyrocket. As Marty quoted Christian Idiodi: “Everyone does product discovery, only some companies do it after the release.” 🙃 Although Marty spoke mainly to product managers, I think this matters just as much for 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. Here's what you can do: - Make it easy for your PMs to prototype fast - Join them in prototyping, focusing on implementation feasibility - Save the “proper” engineering effort for the stage when the solution is validated And yes, I had my fan moment - asked to be photographed with Marty. A little embarrassing, totally worth it.

Collage AI is buying the Israeli startup StudyWise.io, which created an AI platform to help prepare and grade exams and assignments in schools and universities. After the acquisition, StudyWise will grow its team, hire more developers, and serve as Collage AI’s main global hub for educational technology. The deal is estimated to be worth several million dollars, and StudyWise has never raised outside funding since it started. Today, I had the opportunity to join the panel at the Israel Economic Conference by Bizportal & GHContent to discuss the future of Israeli tech and the role of AI, together with Hanan Brand, Eldad Tamir, and Matan Hodorov. We focused on how AI is fundamentally reshaping the way teams work. At Salesforce, AI agents are already part of our daily workflows, helping engineers, product managers and designers to move faster, think bigger, and build better products. It’s more than just adding tools; it’s a new operational model for creating products and delivering value. This shift is accelerating across the country. Even as a small market, the Israeli ecosystem is rapidly moving toward AI-driven innovation - from established players to startups, companies redefining themselves around AI adoption. Our commitment to this momentum is clear. Salesforce sees its AI R&D hub in Israel as one of its three strategic hubs globally, a position we've strengthened over the past two years through local acquisitions and ongoing investment in talent and startups via Salesforce Ventures. It was truly great to share these insights and feel the incredible drive across the ecosystem toward meaningful AI investment and impact.

Can the Startup Nation pivot to #DeepTech Nation? We analyzed a proprietary database of 1,250+ Israeli DeepTech researchers and 165+ specialized labs to map the ecosystem's R&D pipeline for the coming years. We aimed to identify the total % of research talent working in each DeepTech cluster. The market consensus is that Israel = Enterprise SaaS & Cyber (yes and Fintech… 😇). The data however, suggests a massive capital allocation opportunity in fields where Israel might be less famous for recently. Cluster 1: Life Sciences & Bio-Convergence ~275 researchers (32% of researchers). Cluster 2: Hardware, Quantum, Nano & Materials ~175 researchers (20% of researchers). Cluster 3: Energy & Climate ~100 researchers (12% of researchers) Cluster 4: "Physical" AI & Cybersecurity ~315 researchers (36% of researchers) Really wondering, especially with everything happening in Software and AI whether we'll start seeing more specialized funds in these fields with the capital and patience to invest from inception to IPO / $1B+ liquidation.

The best career advice I recently gave? Telling my daughter not to study computer science. As a CS graduate from the Technion and the CEO of a software company, I’ve seen firsthand how the landscape has changed. AI is automating many tasks, reducing the need for traditional engineering roles, and academia hasn’t fully adapted to the demand for more practical, cross-disciplinary skills. While a CS degree still opens doors, the future belongs to those who can apply technology in new ways—blending it with business, psychology, and problem-solving. That’s why I encouraged my daughter to focus on what sets her apart: critical thinking, adaptability, and understanding how tech shapes the world.
