𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹’𝘀 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗺 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 - 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹 🤝 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 During India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel, he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured a tech & innovation exhibition in Jerusalem yesterday, and it was great to see two Israeli quantum leaders featured in the “Quantum & Deep Tech” spotlight: Quantum Machines and Classiq. We’re also proud of Shir Peri Lichtig, Co-Founder and board member of Qubit IL, for being part of this meaningful Israel–India moment and for helping strengthen the bridge between our ecosystems. Moments like these signal not only the global momentum behind quantum computing but also the growing importance of international partnerships that can accelerate real-world progress. 👏 Huge congratulations to the teams at Quantum Machines and Classiq for representing Israel’s quantum excellence with impact and vision.

Density Functional Theory (DFT) is a quantum-mechanical method used in chemistry and physics in order to calculate the electronic structure of atoms, molecules, and solids. Density Functional Theory (DFT) is applied in applications ranging from chemistry and materials science to drug design and energy research. It helps predict and understand the electronic and structural properties of materials, which informs the design of new semiconductors, catalysts, and battery materials. DFT is also used to model drug-receptor interactions, study chemical reactions, and investigate the properties of nanomaterials, including their mechanical and optical characteristics. It helps understand catalytic chemical reaction processes (this application may be used in order to improve the yield in Fluid Catalytic Cracking, Hydrodesulfurization, Hydrocracking units, or medical installations), identify active sites on catalysts, and guide modifications to improve performance in reactions like water splitting and CO₂ reduction. The following review paper seeks to examine the growing synergy between density- functional theory (DFT) and machine learning (ML) in the context of research on nanomaterials. It provides a thorough overview of the methods, strengths, and limitations of DFT and ML in materials science. The plot in figure 1 provides a perspective on how DFT-based methods are integrated with ML techniques for catalytic purposes in complex systems. The workflow is depicted with a linear series of steps, starting from the structural model and data generation through DFT calculations to feature extraction and ML model training. The blue-dotted box contains optional steps, such as feature selection or hyperparameter tuning, which can be employed to enhance the efficiency of the ML models. Alon Davidy

We’re seeing clearer paths to high-volume, chip-based photonic hardware; more practical, high-quality single-photon generation moving onto compact devices; and quantum networking milestones that validate core repeater ingredients on real metropolitan fiber. On the software side, the conversation is maturing too. “Quantum-ready” is turning into engineering work for real-world networks, while the security track keeps sharpening the reality check: meaningful space savings can come with massive time overhead, and new hybrid approaches keep testing the boundaries of what’s practical. The bigger takeaway is ecosystem-level: once capabilities can be tested in the wild, strategy, standards, and deployment pathways matter as much as breakthroughs. The event, moderated by Tali Mayer-Chissick, opened with Qubit IL CEO Tami Mazel Shachar, presenting Qubit IL’s vision for an ecosystem that works together around shared goals.
