Darren O'Dwyer shared thisI talk a lot about the culture at WP Engine, and posts like this are a great reminder, that it really is something special 😃 Tara Kelly O’Brien is an incredible leader and colleague. Her multiple promotions speak for themselves and reflect the dedication, work ethic, curiosity, intelligence and technical skill that she brings every day. WP Engine creates an environment where people can thrive, but it still takes the right mindset and drive to truly make the most of it, and Tara does that brilliantly. Tara's positive “let’s make it happen” energy is contagious. Love this post 🩵Darren O'Dwyer shared thisI started at WP Engine as a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 20-something year old. I lived with my boyfriend in a small apartment, we had a one ginger cat, and neither of us could drive 🙈 Today, I’m celebrating my 8 year work anniversary, and reflecting on how much has changed since that first day in Downtown, Austin. ➡️ Upgraded the boyfriend to a husband (and yes, we both learned to drive eventually) ➡️ Upgraded from one cat to three ➡️ Became a homeowner ➡️ Welcomed a little boy into the mix When I started, I was focused on figuring things out, building skills, and trying not to feel like the most junior person in every room. Over time, this place gave me so many opportunities to learn, to take risks, to grow my confidence, trust in my abilities, and to work with some incredibly talented people. More importantly, WP Engine has also made so much of my personal life possible, giving me the stability, opportunities, and support that helped me build the life I have today. I’m grateful for the colleagues, mentors, challenges, and wins that have shaped the journey so far; I’m excited to see what the next 8 years bring!

Darren O'Dwyer shared thisTop 10! 🏆 WP Engine is officially one of Ireland’s Best Workplaces 2026. We are proud to share that WP Engine ranked at #10 on the Great Place To Work Ireland list, climbing six places since last year. 📈 This achievement is a direct reflection of our culture and the visionary leadership of our CEO, Heather Brunner. Under Heather’s guidance, our core values resonate globally, they are embedded in to the organisational architecture of the company. Ensuring that the support, collaboration and pride we feel as a team are felt across all of our locations, from Austin, Texas to Limerick, Ireland and beyond, every day. While awards are announced on a stage, they are earned in our everyday moments. Whether it’s the dedicated time we set aside every Thursday for "Connect with Coffee," recognising excellence through our internal Supercharged Awards, or supporting our many Employee Resource Group events throughout the year, we prioritise the human's behind the success of this fantastic SaaS company. To which I must give a huge kudos to our Culture & Engagement Program Manager Kimberley Molloy for her tireless organisation and planning to make these so successful, alongside our ERG Leaders. Whether our people work from home or from the office, we strive to provide a space for everyone to connect, collaborate, and create magic. A massive congratulations and thank you to our team here in Ireland. Beyond being world-class at what they do, simply put, they are a sound group of smart, hard working, dedicated people who know how to have great craic when we get together. 😃🕺🇮🇪 As for GPTW, I remember as a graduate, the Great Place to Work list was the ultimate benchmark, it was the first place to start researching before deciding where to apply for jobs. Highlighting the companies truly committed to ensuring their people have an environment to be set up for success. It's an honour to be featured not only in the list, but in the top 10 this year, alongside such esteemed organisations. 🚀

One platform. One workflow. This platform raises the bar for digital publishing. Massive credit to the global teams across WP Engine who brought this to life. Darren O'Dwyer shared thisReally good thought provoking perspective from Zygmunt Dyras on the evolution of AI and the importance of making "context engineering" explicit and controlled. Definitely worth a read, not just for engineers building AI products, but for anyone interacting with AI who wants to become more educated on its complexities.Darren O'Dwyer shared thisWhat separates people who create consistent impact from those who struggle despite obvious talent? After 10+ years leading engineering teams, I keep coming back to the same answer: Context. As we enter the age of AI agents, context engineering isn't a new skill—it's an ancient one we're finally being forced to make explicit. The leaders who thrive won't be those with the biggest AI models, but those who master context in both directions: creating context others can act on, and building systems that understand their own context deeply. In this article, I explore: → Why AI agents fail without proper context → How context engineering shapes collaboration → The architecture question: whose context are you optimizing for? → Which parts of your competitive advantage should stay under your control What's your take? How are you thinking about context in your AI strategy? #ContextEngineering #AI #Leadership #AIAgents #FutureOfWork #GenerativeAI

Darren O'Dwyer shared thisI would like to share a heartfelt thank you and send holiday wishes to our WP Engine colleagues around the world. As Site Lead here in Ireland, I want to publicly recognise the exceptionally smart and driven people I am privileged to represent and work alongside every day. The impact this team has on our global business and the customers we serve, makes us all incredibly proud. When people describe what it is like to work at WP Engine, "collaboration" consistently comes out on top. Great collaboration needs the right environment, so a big thank you to Bernie Gorman for helping create a beautiful office space in the heart of Limerick City that truly enables connection and teamwork. While there is far too much technical progress across teams to list, we have also shared some brilliant moments that bring our culture to life. From our inaugural Diwali and Brazil Day celebrations, thank you Eniola Ojo for your leadership, to mental health talks partnering with Brian Collins and Karen Yelverton at VHI, jewellery making with Celtic Coastal Creations, beach clean ups across Dublin and Cork, and packing shoebox gifts for TEAM HOPE. Our ERGs continue to be a hive of activity, led by superstars James Dominy, Róisín H., Megan Emily Duffy, Eniola Ojo, Iwona Nawrocka, and Nicole Mason. I must also express a special and sincere thanks to Kimberley Molloy for her leadership and partnership throughout the year across both virtual and in person events. I am not sure the energy from last week’s "Great Craic'sby" Christmas Party can ever be replicated, but it will be hard to forget. For a team more accustomed to hoodies than bow ties, we scrub up very well. 😅 🕺 A small plug to close. As AI continues to reshape the internet, our latest website traffic trends report highlights just how quickly the landscape is changing. The year ahead is definitely going to be an exciting one, with some outstanding new products on the horizon, and I am really looking forward to what comes next on our WP Engine journey. https://lnkd.in/eBeSn8Rr Go Raibh Maith Agat. P.S. Happy Christmas to my friends and former Ireland Site Leads, Haidee M. and Paul Ryan. I am very grateful for everything you have built here and for your continued guidance. #Thankful #Recognition #LimerickAbú #HappyHolidays

Darren O'Dwyer shared thisAs it's World Mental Health Day today, you might be interested in getting a relevant speaker in this space to your office. We were lucky enough to host Ray Goggins at our Limerick office last week for a powerful session on personal and team resilience. The talk was engaging, fun, and focused on finding your "WHY", the team loved it and we all took something from it! (I'm a fan of Ray's TV shows, so I probably burnt the ear off him a bit, sorry Ray!). We were able to book Ray through the unique VHI "Speaker" benefit, which provides clients with access to fantastic guest speakers and motivational talks. This is such a brilliant way to support mental fitness. Massive thanks to Vhi and to Brian Collins & Karen Yelverton at VHI and Kimberley Molloy at WP Engine for making this happen! Highly recommend Ray if you can get him! #MentalHealthDay #OneTeam #Resilience

Darren O'Dwyer liked thisDarren O'Dwyer liked thisStepping away from the screen and into the Shoreditch Treehouse 🍃 So much of what we do at WP Engine with our agency partners happens through Zoom squares, Slack pings, and email threads. While that keeps us moving, nothing beats a "real-life" conversation. Tomorrow, I’m heading to the WP Engine × Agency Hackers event. It’s a brilliant chance to: Catch up with the agencies we work with and get to know new ones. Hear exactly what teams are building (and the challenges they’re solving) Have those "unplanned" conversations that never happen on a scheduled call If you’re attending, please come say hello! Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones. #AgencyLife #Networking #WPEngine #DigitalAgencies

Navigating the 2026 Job Market: A Strategic Approach With recent news of significant tech layoffs, including Amazon's announcement affecting their Irish operations, where an estimated 300 jobs are at risk, many are considering their career resilience. After more than 13 years running a recruitment agency, here are some recommended steps, whether you are directly impacted or simply want to stay prepared: If you are exploring options proactively: - Turn on the "Open to Work" setting visible to recruiters only; it's discreet and effective. - Reach out to former colleagues and trusted connections. A simple "keep me in mind" message can open doors. - Follow and engage with content from companies and leaders you admire; visibility matters. If you are facing redundancy: - Understand your entitlements; review your redundancy package, notice period, and any benefits continuation. - Document your achievements and gather work samples (where appropriate and compliant). - Check if your employer offers outplacement support or career transition services. - Explore government supports and resources available to you. - Take time to process; redundancy is challenging, and it's okay to acknowledge that. - Consider making your job search public, turn on the green banner, though this is entirely personal. - Completely refresh your LinkedIn profile with a focus on skills, measurable accomplishments, and relevant experience. - Register with recruitment agencies and stay open to contract or temporary opportunities. - Double down on genuine networking. Regardless of where you stand: - Invest in continuous learning, especially AI-related skills through online courses or in-person programs. - Consider volunteering in your area of expertise; it keeps skills sharp and expands your network. - Stay open-minded about opportunities that might not fit your "ideal" but could lead somewhere meaningful. The job market may feel uncertain, but preparation and connection are always within our control. Wishing everyone navigating this landscape clarity and success ahead. What strategies have worked for you? I would love to hear your thoughts.

The Widening Gap Between Jobseekers and Employers Expectations Across Ireland in 2025 🇮🇪 At Osborne, we have gathered insights into the latest hiring trends in Ireland, drawing from direct engagement with both jobseekers and employers across multiple sectors. One key trend was: Hybrid Work Demand and Salary Disparity Shape Jobseeker Decisions 🤔 Jobseeker expectations are at an all-time high, particularly regarding hybrid and remote work arrangements. A growing number of professionals are now refusing to engage with roles that do not offer flexibility. Alongside this, jobseekers are entering hiring processes with higher salary expectations, often not matched by employer budgets, leading to greater negotiation challenges and a higher risk of jobseeker drop-off during prolonged recruitment cycles. Read more on these trends on our website at https://lnkd.in/ey_4RYrs #Osborne #RecruitmentExcellence #ChangingLives

📢 HR 2025 in Ireland: Insights That Drive Strategy The latest CIPD Ireland report offers timely insight into where we are as a profession and where we need to go. As HR, we are adding real value. We’re driving inclusion, building talent, supporting leaders, and shaping employee experience. But the report shows that business needs are evolving fast and we need to evolve with them. Key highlights: - 91% of organisations are facing skills shortages, especially in leadership, IT, and frontline roles - AI is on the rise, but only 11% have a clear plan or leadership capability to guide it - Business is focused on cost control, productivity, and tech adoption - HR continues to prioritise talent, leadership, and employee experience - Hybrid work is supporting attraction and retention but challenging culture and collaboration - Mental health, workload, and poor management support are still key reasons people leave So what does this mean for us in the People Strategy Agenda? We're making good progress with flexible working, better HR tools, and more support for managers. But we're still not fully in step with what the business needs most. This means we should keep moving forward and to keep make People Strategy a true part of the business strategy, not just a support function, but a driver of change by: - Connect talent & L&D to business outcomes - Build digital and AI readiness across HR and leadership - Equip managers to lead well in hybrid environments - Design work with wellbeing and sustainability in mind - Turn inclusion policies into daily practice - Use HR data to show real impact on cost, performance, and retention 📘 You can find the full CIPD report here: https://lnkd.in/eYhhEG_b #PeopleStrategy #CIPDIreland #FutureOfWork #LeadershipDevelopment

Flexible Work isn’t just a perk anymore – it’s a core talent strategy for 2025! 🏡🧠💼 For many Irish businesses, offering hybrid and remote options is now essential to attract top talent. Why? Most professionals (over 60% in some reports!) now expect flexibility and might even turn down roles without it. Broaden your reach beyond geographical limits, accessing more diverse skills and a wider talent pool. Flexible work leads to happier, more satisfied employees who stay longer. It shows you’re modern, trusting, and employee-focused. Don’t just offer flexibility, strategically leverage it to attract the best talent! #FlexibleWork #HiringTrends #WorkFromAnywhere
