  • Client Success Story Ahead! Three years ago, we partnered with a woman-led boutique hotel startup in M'Xlokk to bridge that gap using a strategic, multi-year funding approach. Here is how the journey looked, year by year: 2023: We began with the Business Reports for SMEs grant. This provided a €4,000 reimbursement (covering 80% of our advisory fees) to build a professional business plan and a 3-year cashflow model. This document was the essential blueprint required to secure financing in the following years and ensure project feasibility before construction began. 2024: As the property reached the furnishing stage, we utilised the MicroInvest Tax Credit scheme. By documenting investments, such as the passenger lift, guest room furniture, and kitchen equipment, we secured a €55,000 tax credit. This significantly reduced the hotel's future tax liability, allowing the owner to keep more liquidity within the business during its critical early years. 2025: With the hotel ready to open, we tapped into the Digitalise your Business grant to part-finance the website and digital booking systems. Simultaneously, we accessed Jobsplus (A2E and Investing in Skills) schemes to provide wage subsidies and fund professional on-the-job training for the new team. This ensured high service standards from Day 1 while lowering initial payroll pressure. The Bottom Line: Strategic planning is the difference between a business that merely survives and one that scales. The only question left: is your business ready for its first or next chapter? Let’s see which schemes you are eligible for. • 🇲🇹 Hiring is one of the fastest ways to grow a business, and one of the easiest ways to get burned. If you’re adding staff in Malta this year, there are several support measures that can reduce the risk and cost, especially when you’re testing a new role, hiring someone returning to work, or rewarding existing team members without taking the full hit immediately. I’ve pulled together a short overview of a few practical options, what they’re best for, and how they impact your cashflow. If you’d like me to point you to the best route, DM “GRANT” with: 1. The role or candidate profile 2. Your current headcount 3. Last year’s turnover ⭐ If you know a Maltese business owner hiring right now, a share could genuinely help.

  • 🇲🇹 Malta business owners: if you’re planning to buy new equipment this year, don’t pay full price by default. Here are 4 grants and tax credits Maltese SMEs can use to reduce upgrade costs. My goal is to help you spot the right route before you spend, because some schemes need pre-approval, and the paperwork can make or break eligibility. If you have a project in mind, message me “GRANT” with: 1. Your sector 2. What you’re buying (rough cost) 3. When you want to purchase …and I’ll reply with the most suitable option and what you’ll need to prepare. 🌟 Be a star: If you know someone in Malta upgrading tools, machinery, systems, or premises, a quick share could save them a painful amount of money.

  • 🇲🇹 If you’re Malta-based and staring down the cost of a business plan or feasibility study, there may be support available, providing up to €4,000 as a rebate. With a plan, you can go on to apply for national and EU business funding as well as seek a commercial loan. I built a quick 5-question eligibility check. It takes about a minute and tells you whether you’re eligible and what the next steps are. Link: https://lnkd.in/dQbqXxGF I’ll follow up by email with what to do next.

  • One of the most common issues I see with early-stage founders is misalignment when applying for public funding. The question isn’t “Can I apply?”, it’s “Should I apply, and to whom?” I’ve published a detailed guide on Enterprise Ireland vs LEO funding that breaks down: – the real eligibility thresholds behind each agency – the HPSU 10-10-1 rule and why it blocks many applications – when LEO is the right starting point – and when Enterprise Ireland genuinely becomes viable This is written for founders planning funding strategically, not reactively. 📖 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dN6ZFTZG If you’re preparing for grants or want clarity before applying, it should save you time and mistakes.
