  • Why have so many neurodivergent women and girls been overlooked for decades? Historically, our understanding of neurodivergence was shaped by research focused almost entirely on young boys.  While 'external' hyperactivity in boys was easily identified, many girls experience 'internal' hyperactivity, meaning their traits often went unnoticed. 🔍 Over the last twenty years, we’ve finally started to understand that neurodivergence presents differently in everyone. We’re moving away from narrow definitions and toward a more accurate, inclusive reality. True inclusion means understanding that neurodivergence doesn't look the same for everyone.  🎧 Full episode with Fiona Gillies out now – available on all major podcasting platforms. #Neurodiversity #ADHD #AutismAwareness #Dyslexia #GarryTalks

  • How common is neurodivergence, and are the numbers we see today truly accurate? Did you know that while roughly 10% of people are neurodivergent, the data we see might only be the tip of the iceberg? In this clip, we explore why certain conditions like Dyslexia show higher numbers than Autism or ADHD - and it might not be for the reason you think. The 'higher' numbers for Dyslexia likely stem from the fact that we've been studying it for much longer. As our awareness of ADHD and Autism grows, we have to wonder: are the numbers rising, or are we finally just seeing what was always there? 📈 🎧 Full episode with Fiona Gillies out now – available on all major podcasting platforms. #Neurodiversity #WorkplaceInclusion #ADHD #AutismAwareness #Dyslexia #CareerAdvice #GarryTalks

  • The greatest minds in history didn't just think outside the box. 📦 They lived outside it. 🌟 In this clip, Fiona and Garry explore how many of our most celebrated creators and historical figures, like Leonardo da Vinci, likely navigated the world with neurodivergent minds. It’s often that "different" way of thinking, paired with an iron-willed perseverance against the status quo, that allows for true brilliance to emerge. The traits we now label as conditions were perhaps often the very engines of their genius. When we recognise that the figures we admire may have shared these connections, it shifts the narrative from "disability" to "possibility." 🎧 Full episode out now - catch the conversation on all major podcasting platforms. #Neurodiversity #Innovation #CreativeMinds #WorkplaceCulture #Inclusion #GarryTalks

  • Assumed support can be just as harmful as no support at all. Fiona Gillies highlights a frequent pitfall in the workplace: the "one-size-fits-all" approach to neurodiversity. When a colleague or manager thinks they already know how to "fix" a condition like ADHD, dyslexia, or autism, their well-intentioned actions can often be completely counterproductive. The reality is that every individual experiences their condition differently. True inclusivity doesn't come from a handbook; it comes from the person themselves. Through coaching, Fiona empowers individuals to advocate for their specific needs to ensure the support they receive actually matches the way they work. It’s a powerful reminder that the best way to help is to stop assuming and start asking. 🎧 Full episode out now - catch the conversation on all major podcasting platforms. #Neurodiversity #SelfAdvocacy #WorkplaceCulture #ADHD #Dyslexia #Autism #Inclusion #GarryTalks
