5 Day Character Sculpting The studio is still recovering from five days of clay and creativity after the Character Bust Sculpting Workshop - a course delivered in partnership with Creative Futures Academy and Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT), and led by fabricator and visual storyteller Paul McDonnell (Stiúideo Fia). The sculptures were incredibly ambitious, ranging from cyclops creatures and woodland spirits to aquatic beings, dinosaurs, folklore-inspired characters and strange hybrid creations. The best part of the course is always seeing participants bring their own concepts and ideas to life through sculpture. Participant feedback was incredibly positive, with one describing the experience as: “It felt like an actual workplace environment more than a course.” Another called the studio: “a space of pure creativity” with “an intoxicating air.” Huge thank you to all the participants for the energy, imagination and commitment they brought to the course.
