In life’s most difficult moments, what matters most is knowing someone is there. In Thailand, a customer suffered a severe brain injury that left them unable to care for themselves. Their elderly parents were suddenly facing the unthinkable. Our colleague supported them every step of the way; from updating beneficiaries to preventing their car from being repossessed. When the claim was settled, the family didn’t just express their thanks. They called her their “daughter”. In Myanmar, when a 7.7‑magnitude earthquake struck Mandalay, customers needed certainty and continuity. Despite power outages and connectivity challenges, our colleagues stayed online - working from cafés, using personal mobile data and power banks - to make sure support never stopped. Thanks to their resilience, urgent claims were processed swiftly, many within 24 hours. Stories like these are a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. Rita Cheng, Martin Leung and Jeni Liu showed what it means to step up for our customers, making them the winners of this year’s Global PruHero - Employee Inspiration award. Rita from Prudential Hong Kong moved with exceptional urgency when a multi-million-dollar claim was unexpectedly delayed. She coordinated across multiple teams to have an emergency cheque issued, then personally delivered it to the customer to ensure they received the support they needed without further delay. Martin from the Claims team in Prudential Hong Kong secured an urgent payout for a family facing a medical crisis. Even on the eve of Lunar New Year, he stepped in to make sure the funds were released the same day, allowing the customer to continue critical treatment without interruption. When a customer was at risk of losing their policy, Jeni from PCA Life Assurance Co Ltd. (保誠人壽) acted quickly to prevent it from lapsing. She assisted the customer with the required documents, communicated clearly about what needed to be done, and worked with teams to fast‑track processing so the premium could be paid on time. When a massive earthquake struck Mandalay, our team at Prudential Myanmar Life Insurance, Dr. Khinewuttyee Thynn (Honey), Dr. Arkar Phyo and May Zin Soe kept our claims hotline running ensuring customers received urgent claim settlements within 24 hours. They set up makeshift command centres when the office became inaccessible and worked shifts so our service could continue without any downtime. At Prudential Hong Kong, Isaac Ho, Kar Yee Jerry Lee and Keith Chan made it their mission to turn every agent into champions of health. They transformed complex health information into clear and simple guidance, empowering agents to help customers make informed decisions about their health coverage. At Prudential Indonesia (PT Prudential Life Assurance), our Actuarial team; Dani Robini, FSAI, AIIS, Harits Lazuardi, FSAI, Marcelino Gunawan, Jevan Christopher Aryento, Russel Obaja, Caroline Woenarso, Evan Eka Wijaya, Fiona Daisy and Ivennia Andriani, led a major health repricing with compassion at every step. By communicating transparently and offering flexible options, they helped customers understand the changes and ensured they were supported throughout the process. Why do we do what we do? Our agents Celest Foo, Nathan Lum and Derek Wong Tuck Kong each have a powerful story to tell. When Celest Foo~ [Build to Last]’s client suffered a stroke and slipped into a coma, her daughter reached out to her in panic. Celest stood by the family’s side, helping them with medical reports and guiding them through a complex claims process. She visited the hospital regularly, offering comfort and a listening ear when the family was in desperate need of support. It’s not uncommon for people to delay getting insurance but NATHAN LUM never stops advocating for what his customers really need. His persistence ensured one family secured a medical plan that would later become a financial life saver when their son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder and required a bone marrow transplant. Over his 18+ years of service, Derek Wong Tuck Kong has built lasting bonds with his clients through all the highs and lows life brings. When a client suffered a life threating burn, he immediately stepped in - arranging emergency services, coordinating ICU admission, and ensuring the claims were processed without delay. Alice Meilani Hendra, Dian Wulandar and Chanita Frapemporn are inspiring examples of what it means to show up for our customers.   Alice Meilani from Prudential Indonesia (PT Prudential Life Assurance) is the quiet force behind our frontline colleagues, always making sure that they have the right support and information to serve customers with confidence.   When faced with a potential risk, Dian Wulandari from Prudential Syariah acted with extraordinary speed and judgement, successfully containing the issue before it could affect our customers.   Chanita Frapemporn of Prudential Thailand responded to a customer’s desperate plea for help. After suffering a brain injury, he needed immediate support to change his insurance beneficiary. Chanita stayed by his side, guiding him through complex processes and following up tirelessly until a full payment was secured, providing help when it mattered most.  These are the stories that define us, and these are the people who embody our Customer Promise.
