  • We recently had the privilege of hosting a group of students and graduates from CareER Association at The Hong Kong Jockey Club — an experience that was as inspiring for us as we hope it was for them. The visit offered a behind‑the‑scenes look at HKJC’s unique integrated business model—where world-class racing and entertainment come together with a deep commitment to community impact as one of the world’s leading charity donors. But more importantly, it was about people, potential, and possibilities. Through sharing sessions with our colleagues, including insights from Alex Bowen on innovation and cross-functional collaboration, participants explored what meaningful careers can look like at HKJC. We also introduced our Management Trainee and Internship Programmes, along with practical guidance on navigating recruitment and interviews—demystifying the journey into the workplace. A highlight of the day was the immersive experience into our broadcasting operations led by Chan Wai Li Gary —where participants stepped into our studios, explored production environments, and engaged directly with our teams. The curiosity, energy and conversations throughout were truly energising. Moments like these reinforce a simple belief: Inclusion isn’t just about access—it’s about opportunity, exposure, and belonging. At HKJC, we remain committed to creating pathways where diverse talent can learn, grow and thrive. A big thank you to Walter Tsui and the CareER Association community for spending the day with us—we look forward to staying connected and continuing this journey of inclusion together. #HKJC #HKJCCareers #AddHorsepowerToYourCareer #CareER #Inclusion #DiversityAndInclusion #CommunityImpact

  • Sealing his place among Hong Kong’s pantheon of equine immortals with triumph in the HK$13 million G1 Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup (2400m) at Sha Tin on Sunday (24 May) – and becoming only the third horse to clinch the Triple Crown – Romantic Warrior will be given a well-earned spell before trainer Danny Shum decides the champion’s racing future. Speaking immediately after Romantic Warrior claimed a record-extending 15th Group 1 by a Hong Kong horse under James McDonald, joining River Verdon (1993/94) and Voyage Bubble (2024/25) as a Triple Crown winner, Shum said: “I’m such a lucky guy, lucky trainer – because I can train Romantic Warrior.  “Before the race we already set up the plan – put him to sleep, let him relax, and try to hit the front. He hit the line in the last 400m, so James has done a great job, he’s top-class jockey.” Claiming a HK$10 million Triple Crown Bonus, Romantic Warrior boosted his world-record prizemoney earnings to HK$288.7 million for owner Peter Lau after the eight-year-old overcame Numbers by half a length with Deep Monster a further length-and-a-half away in third in 2m 26.67s – the same time Voyage Bubble recorded last season. 🔗 Explore more: https://lnkd.in/gRk8vajj #HKJC #HKJCRacing

  • The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and the city of Deauville, France on 13 May signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration in the fields of equine sports development including horse riding, horse supply, and equine health and welfare. Christile Drulhe, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau said, “this agreement gives a new momentum to a relationship founded on trust, shared values, and a common identity related to equestrian excellence. It was made possible by the long-standing exchanges between France and The Hong Kong Jockey Club, notably the yearly France Galop Cup as well as the yearly HKJC trophy races in Deauville in August. I am delighted to see the partnership between France and Hong Kong around the horse brought to a new level, which reflects France and Hong Kong’s joint desire to deepen their exchanges in sports and tourism.” Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Jockey Club said Hong Kong and France share a deep passion for the horse. Racing is also deep-rooted in their communities, bringing people together in their love of sport. Mr Engelbrecht-Bresges added that French May this month will see Hong Kong celebrating the very best of France. The MOU with Deauville strengthens HKJC’s relationship with French horse sports still further. This year, being the Year of the Horse in the Chinese calendar, is even more meaningful, with special events organised in Hong Kong to share the love of the horse. Philippe Béhuet, Deputy Mayor of Deauville and Special Representative of the Mayor of Deauville said, “Deauville and Hong Kong may be oceans apart, but we are joined by the same spirit — a love for horses, sport, elegance, and tradition, as well as a constant drive for innovation and excellence. The values upheld by The Hong Kong Jockey Club deeply resonate with those of our town, which has long been in both places the home to world-class horse events. Together, we can foster new opportunities, inspire young talent, and strengthen the enduring bond between our communities.” 🔗 Explore more: https://lnkd.in/g8--2JVN #HKJC
