Hi all,
we've just completed a survey of the Transition Network site (http:/www.transitionnetwork.org) which I thought you might be interested in:
http://www.transitionnetwork.org/blogs/ed-mitchell/2011-03/web-project-s...
There's quite a bit of interesting stuff in there - I'm seeing a focus on simplicity and users who don't want to spend too much time inside or on the computer - they're literate but not keen on getting too techie, preferring to do their social networking locally, face to face, and keeping the website stuff as simple as possible. This hasn't changed significantly since our last survey 18 months ago. They're very keen on us focusing our remaining budget on enhancing the website on initiative support and a 'storytelling' project-ette involving transitioners around the world blogging about the experience in Transition.
It makes me wonder about how many initiatives would be able to handle a drupal install to be honest. It seems they'd be very happy with a drupal gardens-y 'one click' install but actually having to get serious at a deeper level might scare them...
