Is this really a real project? #261

I have yet to see a single comment or issue of anyone successfully using the project for real presence detection, and sceptical comments/issues are being deleted or closed. It seems unlikely that the project is functional, especially considering the volume of AI commits (not an issue on its own, but the speed of development is certainly suspicious) |

Honestly, I think you're right to be skeptical. I've been following this space for a while and I've noticed the same pattern — lots of claims, but very few real-world success stories from independent users. When a project actively deletes or closes skeptical comments instead of addressing them with clear documentation or reproducible results, that's a major red flag. The AI-generated commit spam is another warning sign; it often creates the illusion of rapid progress without actually solving the hard problems (like reliable presence detection in real homes with pets, sunlight, or multiple people). My advice? Look for projects that have open issue trackers where people actually discuss failures and workarounds — that transparency usually means the project is legit. If every critical question gets shut down, chances are it doesn't work as advertised. |
