Hi GitHub Community,

I am a GitHub Copilot user in an organization that uses GitHub Enterprise, and I would like to understand what visibility enterprise admins have into Copilot activity.

Specifically, I want to know whether GitHub Enterprise or GitHub Copilot Business/Enterprise allows organization or enterprise admins to view, export, or analyze the actual prompts submitted by users.

My goal is to understand how Copilot prompt data is handled from a privacy and admin-visibility perspective.

A few specific questions:

1. Can enterprise or organization admins access users' Copilot prompts through any dashboard, audit log, API, or report?
2. Can admins view Copilot chat history, inline prompt text, or generated responses for individual users?
3. If prompt contents are not available to admins, is that an intentional privacy boundary?
4. What Copilot usage data can admins see at an organization or enterprise level?
5. Are there official GitHub docs that explain what Copilot data is visible to admins versus private to the user?

Any official documentation, product guidance, or clarification would be helpful.

1. first no your company cannot see your prompts (chats, inline suggestions...), they can see the usage but not the content
2. no they cannot this data remains on your environnement
3. Yes it's for privacy, preventing surveillance of coding activity content
   4)they can see : number of copilot users, seats assign vs used, adoption rate time, editor breakdown, language stats (only in some plans)

   Yes. GitHub appears to separate administrative usage management from the content of user interactions with Copilot.
