You’re not doing anything wrong. This is how GitHub Projects works right now. To avoid mistakes, it’s usually easier to create issues directly from the repo’s issues page and let automation add them to your project. |

You’re not doing anything wrong—this is a current limitation in GitHub Projects. Even with a default repo set, the “Create Issue” dialog doesn’t automatically pre-select it, so you need to manually search each time. To reduce mistakes, you can:

I have setup a Github Project and have set a default repo for the Project.
When I create a new issue in the Project I get a dialogue where I can select a repo, but my default repo is not listed. I have to search for it everytime and since a different repo is selected by default, this increase the risk that the issue will be created in the wrong repo.
Am I doing something wrong here? This seems really broken...
