This is a great point. iOS 'Smart Punctuation' makes standard code searching a bit of a chore when it auto-converts those quotes. It would definitely be a nice polish to have the search engine treat “curly” quotes as "straight" quotes by default, especially since most codebases exclusively use the latter. In the meantime, a quick (though annoying) workaround on iOS is to long-press the quote key to select the straight ones, or disable 'Smart Punctuation' in Settings > General > Keyboard. Hopefully, the mobile team can add this normalization to the search bar! |

On mobile I can do a code search like:
And get results. However it takes extra effort to make the straight quotes on iOS keyboard. By default you will input the search like
and that didn't give me any code results at all (did match some PRs).
This would be a nice little bit of polish if you could. 🙏
