Welcome to the GitHub Community, @juliettegilbert, we're happy you're here! You are more likely to get a useful response if you are posting your question in the applicable category and are explicit about what your project entails--giving a few more details might help someone give you a nudge in the right direction. I've gone ahead and moved it for you. Good luck! |

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with my GitHub repository. I tried to push updates to my project, but GitHub blocked it because a file in the repository history is too large. I already deleted this file from my local project, so it doesn’t appear in the new commits, but it’s still in the repository history and keeps causing the push to fail. I also cannot install Git on my computer, so I’m unable to rewrite the repository history myself. Has anyone experienced this before or know a way to remove a file from the history without changing the repository URL? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
