Need help, student pack benefits delayed for no reason

Hi everyone,

Hello, I got approved as a student 3 days ago. I'm new in GitHub and don't know coding. But i'm interested in it. I was waiting for my benifits to be be unlocked and waiting for the mail for confirmation as 72 hours has passed. now I got an email that something went wrong. Can anyone help me get my access quicker I don't want to wait another 72 hours if possible. I have applied agian and got approved again. Thanks

The email you received usually means there was a "Handshake Error" between the Education database and your main GitHub account during that 72-hour waiting window.
Since you have already re-applied and received a new "Approved" status you have done the most important step correctly.
Unfortunately there is no official button to bypass the 72-hour wait because this is a security period where GitHub performs a final audit of your account data.
However there are a few things you can do right now to ensure this second attempt works perfectly and doesn't fail again.
First make sure your GitHub Profile is completely filled out with your real name and a short bio because the system sometimes rejects "empty" profiles during the sync phase.
You should check your Billing and plans settings and ensure your "Public Profile" name matches the name on the student document you uploaded.
Do not use a VPN or any proxy services for the next three days because if GitHub sees you logging in from a different country than your school it will trigger another "Something went wrong" error.
You can check if your benefits are active earlier than the email by going to your Settings and looking for the GitHub Pro badge under your name.
If you see GitHub Pro listed there with a $0 cost it means your benefits have arrived and you don't need to wait for the final confirmation email.
Since you are new to coding I highly recommend checking out the GitHub Skills page while you wait as it has great free tutorials for beginners.
If your benefits are still not active by this time on January 3rd you should reach out to the GitHub Education Support team to have them manually force the sync.
