Can not apply for student verification

Hi everyone,

I can't apply for reverification: I get an error message every time (see screenshot below). The process I'm following is:

• Go to https://github.com/settings/education/benefits
• Click "Reverify your application"
• Select my school and the associated email address, allow access to my location.
• On the next page, whatever type of document I choose, I get this error. Not that I am enabling my camera (even though I don't quite understand why a camera is required to send a pdf).

The school and email is @ens-lyon.fr (registered as Lyon Normal School somehow).

It looks like the error might be related to GitHub Education’s verification system, which sometimes requires camera access even when uploading a PDF. Here are a few things you could try:

Make sure your PDF is clear, readable, and not too large (usually under 10–15 MB).

Try using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox usually work best) and ensure camera access is allowed.

Clear your browser cache and cookies before attempting the verification again.

Don’t worry about the school name being listed as “Lyon Normal School”; this is likely just a translation issue.

with your screenshot, the type of document, your browser, and OS details they can manually review your application.
