This is for other badges but it makes sense that it's the same for this badge as well. Caching: Sometimes, badge updates can be delayed due to caching mechanisms. GitHub might have caching systems in place to reduce server load and improve performance, which can cause delays in badge updates. Time Delay: Badge updates might not be instantaneous. The system may take some time to process and verify the conditions for earning a badge. GitHub Server Issues: Temporary server issues or outages on GitHub's end could also cause delays in badge updates. If you believe you have genuinely met all the conditions for the badges and they are still not updating after waiting for a reasonable amount of time, you can try the following steps: Log out and Log In: Sometimes, logging out of your GitHub account and then logging back in can trigger a refresh and update your badges. Contact GitHub Support: If the issue persists, you can reach out to GitHub support to inquire about the badge update delay or potential issues with the badge awarding system. |

We made the decision to disable the ability to earn Achievements in our Community in order to discourage users from participating in coordinated or inauthentic activity like rapid questions and answers in order to earn badges. You can learn more about this decision in our announcement post here Achievements will no longer be available in the Community. |

it doesn't work that way bro , even though you have answer someone should accept your question like the person who asked "thats the qualification" all the best |

Honestly, same here—I've also been trying to get the Galaxy Brain badge, so I totally get why this feels frustrating. From what the GitHub staff said in that thread, the main issue is that Achievements (including Galaxy Brain) are no longer being awarded for activity in the GitHub Community. In the past, you had to give answers that were marked as accepted to make progress toward that badge, but even that doesn't count anymore. They mentioned this change was intentional, mainly to stop people from gaming the system by posting low-quality Q&A just to farm badges. Because of that, even if you or I answer lots of questions and they get accepted, it still won't trigger the Galaxy Brain badge anymore. So, nothing is "wrong" with your account—it's just that the badge can't be earned through Community discussions now. Same boat here: still answering questions and trying to help out, but doing it knowing the badge probably isn't coming from this part of GitHub anymore. |

Hi there! 👋 Just posting a reply to a discussion isn't enough to get the Galaxy Brain badge. For it to count, the person who asked the question (the Original Poster) needs to explicitly mark your reply as the "Accepted Answer" (by clicking the checkmark icon next to your reply). Once you have 2 replies that are officially marked as answers by the authors, you will receive the badge automatically. Hope this helps and good luck! |
