If we'd like to add translations for all languages, since AI is quite powerful, maybe we can use some cron jobs to automatically translate the README from English to all other languages, then only need to maintain and review the English version, and no need to maintain other languages.

Yes. As AI can generate good translations nowadays, this is a good idea.

I don't think this would be useful. We cannot provide good translations in all languages, there is no sense in providing just 2 or 3, and, to be honest, everyone with enough understanding of tech an git to need an own Gitea instance should already have good enough knowledge of English

I agree, IMO the README in the repo can be only in English.

gitea.com can have various AI-powered translations for SEO purpose.

BTW Chinese README hasn’t been synced with the English version, Using AI for automatic translation of the README seems like a good option.

There appears to be https://www.zdoc.app which is meant for the job of AI translation of READMEs, it's for example used by rustfs:

https://github.com/rustfs/rustfs/blob/main/README.md

Only question is whether we want to nuke all non-english readmes or keep some of them.

I would nuke all of them for the reasons already stated
