How do you validate a DRS mechanism before building a prototype? Tell us in comments Thank you CATIA Champion Hilario Cortez for this one. His words: "As part of the work we develop at Cortez Engineering , I’m currently validating the kinematic behaviour of a DRS mechanism using CATIA Motion Design on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform from Dassault Systèmes. The objective of this stage is to verify that the mechanism behaves as expected before moving into more advanced simulation phases. This kinematic validation allows us to analyse: • the opening and closing motion of the flap • actuator stroke and mechanical limits • linkage behaviour and rotation angles • potential interferences and clearances between components Performing this validation early in the development process helps identify potential design issues before introducing structural loads or aerodynamic effects. Next steps in the development process: • dynamic simulation to evaluate actuator forces and system loads • aerodynamic evaluation of the DRS concept (CFD) • structural validation of the components • prototype development and testing" #3DEXPERIENCE
