🔬 In most materials markets, you compete on cost. In ALD, you compete on precision. Today we're sharing a blogpost on why we decided to focus on Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), alongside updated white-papers outlining our scientific approach to the field. Over the past year, we evaluated markets across catalysis, batteries, electrolysis, mining and others before deciding to focus on ALD. ALD is a process used to deposit ultra-thin films, sometimes one atomic layer at a time, onto a surface. It is a key technology for advanced semiconductors, and is increasingly emerging in battery coatings, catalysis, and other surface-engineered materials. What we were looking for was a market where a single molecule could be genuinely proprietary, where customers had margin to spend on performance, and where the chemistry was complex enough for computational tools to provide a real edge over trial and error. At our stage, we also believe focus matters, and ALD is where we chose to go deep first. 👉 Read the full blogpost: https://lnkd.in/eWHKYxti #ALD #MaterialsDiscovery #AI4Science #ComputationalChemistry #Semiconductors #DeepTech

🎥 Alexandre Duval, our co-founder and Chief Scientist Officer, was recently a guest on Comptoir IA with Nicolas Guyon to talk about AI for materials discovery. He covers why AI for matter is more than just LLMs, what 10⁶⁰ possible materials actually means in practice, and how AlphaFold-level acceleration could apply to molecules and semiconductors. The episode is worth your time ! 👉 Here is the youtube link: https://lnkd.in/eEdBgaXf #AI4Science #MaterialsDiscovery #ComputationalChemistry #DeepTech #Entalpic #Semiconductors

In the words of CSO and Co-founder Alexandre Duval: "It's not a question if AI has given a shot in the arm to materials science, it already has. It's a question of how far this impact extends." 🔬 In Sifted’s latest report, Entalpic is featured alongside teams shaping materials discovery in Europe. The real challenge is no longer whether AI works, but closing the gap between simulation and reality: reproducibility, data quality, and industrial scalability. That’s exactly what we’re building at Entalpic, combining DFT, MLIPs, and generative AI to identify materials that actually work in practice. We will soon release an updated white paper that better describes our work. Comment here to request your copy once the final version is ready. 👇 Read the full report at: https://lnkd.in/eAgG5pY2 #MaterialsDiscovery #AI4Science #DeepTech
Can AI help startups discover brand new materials? From better batteries to more sustainable packaging, materials science could be one of AI’s most tangible use cases yet. But turning a promising model into something that works in the lab, scales in production and survives commercial pressure is another challenge entirely. Our latest report looks at where AI materials startups are gaining ground, what still needs to change and why investors and corporates are paying attention. #EuropeanTech #Deeptech #AI

🥳 I made it into Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe ! 🥳 Taking a moment to enjoy this one — it's a distinction I used to look up to, which rewards not only the efforts I put to get here but also the great work we have been doing at Entalpic. I want to seize this opportunity to say a proper thank you to my co-founders, Victor Schmidt & Mathieu Galtier. I have been incredibly lucky to cross their paths and live this adventure together. Starting a company from scratch, navigating the highs and lows of startup life, staying at the frontier of science while trying to create an entirely new market — they have made every step of this journey meaningful. Sincerely, I couldn't ask for better partners 🥰 Because what we are trying to do at Entalpic is genuinely hard ⚛️. We use AI and computational chemistry to design materials at the atomic scale — engineering precise properties and unlocking chemical processes that will define the next decade of the energy transition and beyond. These aren't incremental problems but long-horizon challenges where the science itself is still being written. And the team we have built to tackle them is honestly amazing ! Follow along if you want to see where this goes, exciting things are coming 🚀
