Accenture employs over 740,000 people in 49 countries worldwide to help businesses and governments build a digital core. In recent years, Accenture has been laser-focused on how to attract a diverse and competitive labor force, and it’s hoping to lead by example. 45% of its board of directors are women, and about 45% are racially diverse. Women make up about half the company’s workforce and 30% of its managing directors. Accenture also has a dollar-for-dollar, 100% pay equity, measured in annual reviews, which means women earn the equivalent of men in every country in which the group operates. Over the next three years, it has pledged a $3 billion investment into data and AI practices. Accenture hasn’t been immune to cost-cutting pressures across the tech sector, however. In March 2023, the company slashed 19,000 jobs, about 2.5% of its workforce.
