This week on Signal: Nova's Head of AI explains how they made the shortlisting model 15 times cheaper. And it actually got more accurate. Ramon sits down with Cristian García, CPO at Nova and Jesús Copado, Head of AI at Nova to cover what's shipping at Nova and what shaped the week in AI and tech. On the Nova side: 🔹AI shortlisting went from a frontier model to one that's 2.5x more accurate and 15x cheaper, using eval datasets and LLM-as-a-judge 🔹The AI reply builder is live and users aren't editing the suggestions 🔹Christian built the "Become an AI Recruiter" course solo with AI. One post, 1,400 comments. On the news: 🔹 GPT solved a 70-year-old geometry problem 🔹 SpaceX filed for a $1.75T IPO 🔹 Google I/O: 7x token growth year-on-year and a CEO willing to say AGI by 2030 🔹 Micron is up 6x in 2 months because agents need CPUs, not just GPUs Signal is hosted by Ramón Rodrigáñez Riesco and Andrea Marino, co-founders of Nova. • An MBA used to be enough. In 2026, it's the starting line. This week we ran "Career Capital Beyond the MBA" at IESE Business School, a session led by Ramón Rodrigáñez Riesco, built exclusively for MBA students on what actually moves careers in today's market. We dug into: → How AI is reshaping the job market for MBA and executive profiles → The hidden job market, and how to access it → Building a Pi-shaped profile, not just T-shaped → AI fluency as a real differentiator → LinkedIn visibility tactics that work in 2026 The biggest takeaway? Career capital isn't a credential. It's positioning, network, and skills you compound on purpose. Huge thanks to IESE and to every student who showed up ready to challenge their own assumptions.

Getting a senior executive to speak openly about the decisions behind a global career is harder than it sounds. Last week, it happened at Nova's offices in Madrid. Ignacio Navarro, senior leader at Diageo, one of the world's most iconic premium drinks companies, sat down with a small group of Nova members for an evening that felt nothing like a conference. He talked about building brands at scale, leading cross-functional teams across markets, and navigating the complexity that comes with operating at the top of a fast-moving industry. Honest, specific, and worth every minute. The room didn't want it to end. But what came next was just as promising. After the talk, members kept connecting, questions kept coming, and the energy that makes these evenings worth clearing your calendar for was very much in the air. Plus a great dinner and dessert that put the cherry on top. Thank you, Ignacio, for your time and your honesty. We hope to have you back. And a huge thank you to Ignacio Zaera, Nova's City Leader in Madrid, for putting this together and making it feel like home. Thanks to Grosso Napoletano and Antojo’s GalleryⓇ for making the evening that much sweeter. 🙌 Want to be in the room next time? Join Nova. More info in comments.

  • 🚨One of our own just came back from Dubai 🚨 Top 10 out of 35,000 startups at the Deel Global Pitch Competition. But the bigger conversation this week on Signal is about where the world's best talent is going, and what it means for yours. Karpathy, OpenAI co-founder and the person who coined "vibe coding," just joined Anthropic. Before him, the CTOs of Workday, Box, and Instagram had already taken individual contributor roles there doing deep research. No big teams. No titles. Just impact at scale. The best engineers on the planet are not trying to climb the org chart. They're optimizing for output. And with AI multiplying what one person can do, those are now the same thing. We talked about what that means for everyone else on this week's Signal, including whether "leading a big team" should still be anyone's definition of career growth. Also in Ep. 08: 🔹 Elon Musk loses the OpenAI lawsuit (on a technicality - did he ever plan to win in court?) 🔹 Lovable: $400M ARR, 150 people, almost $3M per head 🔹 Replit: from Chrome extension for low-connectivity students to $9B valuation in under 2 years 🔹 Claude Code recovers $400K in Bitcoin locked for nine years 🔹 Google Glass is back. Kind of. 🔹 Nova's free Claude course for recruiters goes viral with 1,500+ comments 🚨 Signal is hosted by Ramón Rodrigáñez Riesco and Andrea Marino, co-founders of Nova. 🎙️ New episode every week. 📎 Link in comments. #Signal #AINews #FutureOfWork #NovaTalent

  • Most people know what Netflix built. Fewer know what it actually takes to grow it across an entire region. Last week, Roberto Porras, Business Development Director for Southern Europe at Netflix, spent an evening at Nova's offices in Madrid with a small group of members. Leyre Segovia Mateos led the conversation, and Roberto didn't hold back. He talked about scaling digital businesses, building strategic partnerships in media and telecoms, and what operating at the commercial edge of one of the world's most recognized platforms actually looks like day to day. The conversation landed. You could feel it in the room, that vibrant growth environment that brings members, guests, and team together. The talk gave way to networking, and the night settled around a dinner by #KrickyPelton. Great food has a way of stretching a good evening, and theirs did exactly that. Authentic american burgers that made conversations keep going, and no one seemed to be in a rush to leave. A proper ending to a proper evening. Thank you, Roberto, for being so generous with your time and your perspective. Want to be in the room next time? Join Nova.

Alberto Frasarin, Managing Director of Google Customer Solutions, Southern Europe, gave us a very grounded perspective on leadership, decision-making, and the reality of AI adoption during the recent Nova CXO dinner in Dublin. Together with Sebastian Carru, I had the pleasure of hosting another evening bringing together leaders, founders, and operators for a more honest conversation around what is actually happening in tech and business right now. What stood out most was Alberto’s ability to connect large-scale business transformation with very personal reflections and experiences from his own career. Having held senior leadership roles across companies such as Google, L'Oréal, McKinsey & Company, and Vodafone, he brought a perspective that was both strategic and refreshingly practical, especially around navigating change, scaling innovation, and leading through uncertainty. A huge thank you as well to everyone who joined and contributed to the discussion. The diversity of perspectives in the room is what makes these evenings so valuable. Rafael Lopez Castillo, Ebel Floridia, Javier Carnerero Cano, PhD, Sade Michelucci, Nils Lange, Alessio Alberti, Elia Narcisi, Elisabetta Dossena, Alexandra Buonanno I’m very excited to continue building this series together with Sebastian and to keep creating spaces for conversations that go beyond surface-level networking. If you know someone who would be a great fit for future Nova dinners, feel free to tag them below.

  • 3,500+ companies applied. 10 made the cut. Nova is one of them. 🥳 We've been named a Dubai regional winner of The Pitch by Deel 2026. That's the top 0.3% of applicants. Deel is joining our cap table with a $50,000 investment, and the signal behind it means even more. Deel is the most valuable company founded in 2019 ($17B and counting), and one of the HR tech companies we admire most. The partnership possibilities are huge. Wins like this don't come out of nowhere. Two years ago, Nova wasn't an obvious bet for investors. It took 250+ meetings to close our Seed. Today, thanks to Nova Recruiter, the conversation has shifted: our €1.5M extension came together 10x faster, inbound is real, and we're competing on international stages. The real win, though? The team building Nova every day. We keep shipping. The best is yet to come 🚀 Find out why top performers choose Nova. Link in comments.
