The Egyptian Pavilion at the Festival de Cannes hosted the FIPRESCI Cocktail, celebrating the international community of film critics and the ongoing dialogue between cinema and criticism. The gathering was held in recognition of Egyptian critic Ahmed Shawky, President of FIPRESCI, bringing together critics, programmers, filmmakers, and cinephiles from around the world for an evening of conversation, connection, and shared passion for cinema. A celebration of the voices that continue to shape how films are seen, discussed, and remembered ✨ استضاف الجناح المصري بمهرجان كان السينمائي حفل FIPRESCI Cocktail، احتفاءً بالمجتمع الدولي لنقاد السينما وبالحوار المستمر بين السينما والنقد. وجاءت الأمسية تقديرًا للناقد المصري أحمد شوقي، رئيس الاتحاد الدولي للنقاد السينمائيين FIPRESCI، حيث جمعت النقاد والمبرمجين وصُنّاع الأفلام وعشّاق السينما من مختلف أنحاء العالم في أجواء من الحوار والتواصل والشغف المشترك بالسينما. احتفاءٌ بالأصوات التي تساهم في تشكيل الطريقة التي تُشاهَد وتُناقَش وتُخلَّد.

Day 3 at the Egyptian Pavilion at the Festival de Cannes continued with engaging conversations and insightful discussions through the panel “Who’s Watching? Bringing Your Film to Egypt & the Arab World.” The session explored the evolving relationship between filmmakers and audiences across the region, discussing distribution, accessibility, audience engagement, and the growing opportunities for films within Egypt and the Arab world. A conversation that highlighted not only where cinema is today, but where it’s heading next ✨ تواصلت فعاليات اليوم الثالث في الجناح المصري بمهرجان كان السينمائي مع نقاشات ثرية وحوارات ملهمة من خلال جلسة “من يشاهد؟ كيف تصل بفيلمك إلى مصر والعالم العربي”. تناولت الجلسة العلاقة المتطوّرة بين صُنّاع الأفلام والجمهور في المنطقة، مع مناقشة التوزيع وإتاحة الأفلام وتفاعل الجمهور، إلى جانب الفرص المتزايدة لوصول الأعمال السينمائية إلى مصر والعالم العربي. حوار سلّط الضوء ليس فقط على واقع السينما اليوم، بل أيضًا على مستقبلها واتجاهاتها القادمة ✨

This vital dialogue underscored the significance of preserving and restoring our cinematic treasures while honoring the rich history that continues to inspire new generations of filmmakers and audiences alike. From heartfelt exchanges to the forging of new connections, the Egyptian Pavilion remains a welcoming space where the essence of Egyptian cinema beautifully intertwines with the global film community. Last night marked the opening ceremony of the Festival de Cannes, and we are proud to represent El Gouna Film Festival at the Egyptian Pavilion, Pavilion 209, Pantiero. As Cannes opens its new edition, we celebrate a shared space where stories meet, voices connect, and cinema continues to grow beyond borders. Following its Best Pavilion Design Award win last year, the Egyptian Pavilion is proud to announce its return to the Marché du Film in Cannes from 12 to 23 May 2026. Situated prominently on the Pantiero, overlooking the old port, the Pavilion will once again serve as Egypt's strategic hub at the world's foremost film market, bringing together filmmakers and industry professionals from across the globe. The Pavilion is supported by its three institutional founding partners, Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), Egypt Film Commission (EFC), and El Gouna Film Festival (GFF). This year, the Egyptian Pavilion significantly expands its reach by welcoming a robust contingent of industry partners, including Drosos Foundation, Film Clinic, Film Square, Focus Film Rentals, and Red Star Films — reflecting the growing appetite within Egypt’s production community to engage with international markets. Over ten days, the Egyptian Pavilion will host a dynamic programme of panels, roundtables, networking events, and receptions designed to navigate the questions and challenges shaping Egyptian and Arab cinema today. بعد فوزه بجائزة أفضل تصميم جناح في سوق مهرجان كان السينمائي العام الماضي، يعود الجناح المصري إلى سوق الأفلام (Marché du Film) ضمن فعاليات مهرجان كان السينمائي في الفترة من 12 إلى 23 مايو 2026. ويقع الجناح في منطقة البانتييرو المطلة على الميناء القديم، ليواصل دوره كمركز استراتيجي يجمع صُنّاع السينما والمهنيين من مصر والعالم العربي ومختلف أنحاء العالم. ويقام الجناح بدعم من الشركاء المؤسسين: مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي، ولجنة مصر للأفلام، ومهرجان الجونة السينمائي. كما يشهد هذا العام توسعًا ملحوظًا بانضمام مجموعة من الشركاء من القطاع السينمائي، من بينهم مؤسسة دروسوس، فيلم كلينيك، فيلم سكوير، فوكس لتأجير معدات التصوير، وريد ستار فيلمز، في انعكاس واضح للاهتمام المتزايد داخل مجتمع الإنتاج المصري بالتواصل مع الأسواق العالمية. وعلى مدار عشرة أيام، يستضيف الجناح المصري برنامجًا متنوعًا من الجلسات الحوارية، والموائد المستديرة، وفعاليات التواصل والاستقبال، لمناقشة أبرز القضايا والتحديات التي تشكل ملامح السينما المصرية والعربية
