  • 🔩 Project Insight: Safe Maintenance Access in Industrial Structures. In one of our recent industrial projects, we designed a steel support system for pipeline structure with a strong focus on reliability, operational access, and personnel safety. 👷♂️ The main task was to ensure safe maintenance access at every level while maintaining the structural efficiency of the supporting frame. Our team worked on:  ✔️ Coordination of pipeline routing and steel frame elements  ✔️ Integration of service platforms and passageways  ✔️ Safe operational access to fittings and equipment ⚙️ A detailed structural analysis helped us develop a design scheme that accurately reflects the actual behavior of the frame under pipeline loads.   Particular attention was given to the reliability of joints between frame elements and pipeline supports, as well as to the safety of maintenance personnel movement and emergency 🚨 evacuation routes. As a result, our Client received not only an efficient engineering solution for the industrial facility, but also reliable and safe operation — because in industrial engineering, these aspects are always closely connected. #StructuralEngineering #SteelStructures #IndustrialEngineering #PipelineSupport #EngineeringDesign

  • Technical solution: Pipeline support and maintenance facility Designing a structure to support multiple pipelines with varying diameters, loads, and thermal movements within a confined space is never a standard task. This project required close integration of structural and process ⚙️ engineering. The facility is a steel-framed spatial system designed to accommodate a highly congested arrangement of pipelines and equipment. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞: 🔵 Structural analysis   🔵 BIM model development for fabrication and erection   🔵 Full set of engineering documentation 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬:  ▪️ Three-level pipeline support system with varying support types and routing   ▪️ High-density layout within limited space   ▪️ Thermal expansion and load transfer to the structure   ▪️ Additional and dynamic loads from pipeline systems    𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:  A three-level support arrangement was implemented, optimizing space and simplifying routing. Dedicated support structures at each level were designed to handle different pipe types and thermal movements, balancing stiffness and flexibility of the system. BIM ensured precise coordination and reduced clashes during fabrication and installation.    🔷 🔹 🔷 This project demonstrates how integrated structural and process engineering — supported by BIM — enables the successful delivery of complex, high-density industrial facilities without compromising safety and reliability.    #StructuralEngineering #IndustrialEngineering #BIM #SteelStructures #EngineeringSolutions

  • HSQ Beams – Structural Efficiency in Large Spans 🏗️    Continuing our insights from the shopping center 🏬 project, another key solution we implemented was the use of HSQ (HQ) composite beams.  These are hollow rectangular steel sections filled with concrete, with additional reinforcement placed inside to further enhance performance. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝  Working with large spans and lightweight floor systems required a solution that balances strength, efficiency, and constructability. HSQ beams delivered on all fronts 👇  • 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 📏  Integration of concrete within the beam reduced the overall floor depth and building height.  • 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝-𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 💪  Composite action of steel and concrete allowed us to carry significant loads with lower self-weight.  • 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 ⚙️  Flat soffit made it easier to install MEP systems (ventilation, HVAC, etc.).  • 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 ♻️  Reduced steel consumption compared to traditional I-beams.  • 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 🔥  Concrete infill improved fire performance without additional protection.   The use of HSQ beams helped optimize both structural performance and construction efficiency, making them a strong fit for this type of project. #StructuralEngineering #CompositeStructures #SteelDesign #ConstructionInnovation #BIM

Connection Details & Embedded Parts  Another key aspect of the shopping center 🏬 project was the development of joint solutions and embedded parts.    𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝  During the design stage, we modeled reinforcement layouts and defined joint solutions using standardized embedded components. This ensured accurate positioning and reliable interaction between precast elements and the steel frame.    The key 🔐 requirement was to ensure strict compliance with existing catalogs and standards for embedded parts, while accounting for differences in elastic moduli of steel and concrete at various stages of structural behavior, which directly affect connection stiffness and force distribution. These factors directly impacted the development of structural analysis models. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 Accurate detailing of embedded parts allowed for reliable load transfer and efficient assembly on site.    𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭  Our approach to connection design minimized installation risks and supported smooth integration of precast and steel systems.    If you are interested in this project, stay tuned – we have more to share 😉 .       #StructuralEngineering #Steel_Concrete #EngineeringSolution #Modeling #Drawings

Although we design structures for residential and industrial buildings, a significant part of our team is deeply involved in technological projects.  The level of complexity varies in every field — but technological projects seem to be rarely simple 😄.   And that’s exactly what we enjoy. Working with our team means not only accessing solid engineering experience, but also collaborating with specialists who can foresee critical challenges in technological projects before they turn into risks, because we: 🔹  𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗿𝘀  We work directly with production facilities, which allows us to understand the manufacturing process in detail. This enables us to propose practical, production-oriented solutions that help our clients avoid delays and save valuable time.  🔹  𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 We know how to handle situations where the existing design documentation does not fully match the actual conditions on site.  🔹  𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀  Technological projects often require fitting large amounts of equipment into very limited areas — and we know how to make that work.  🔹  𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀  When project changes introduce loads that exceed the capacity of already constructed foundations, we develop safe and efficient engineering solutions to adapt the structure. We are not afraid of complex, non-standard tasks that carry high responsibility 🧐 — this is where our engineering expertise delivers the most value.    Every technological project has its own story of surprises 😯 , and engineering decisions.   #StructuralEngineering  #IndustrialEngineering  #EngineeringDesign  #SteelStructures  #TechnologicalProjects

  • Hope the new year has started well and productively 🚀 for you.   We continue to share engineering solutions 🛠️  we develop for our clients, along with practical examples of our work. One of our recent tasks involved the design and analysis of steel structures for a commercial building. Project challenge:  The client required the structure to allow for possible future reconstruction and expansion of the building. To address this, our team accounted for additional loads from potential future areas defined by the client. These loads were included in the structural analysis of the steel frame, ensuring that the building could be expanded in the future without changing its fundamental ⚙️ structural scheme. This approach ✅ allowed the client to plan long-term development while maintaining the reliability and efficiency of the original design. At Structural-S, we value non-standard engineering tasks and thoughtful design solutions that support our clients’ future needs. We look forward to new projects, professional collaboration, and in-person meetings 🤝in the year ahead.   Let’s stay in touch.    #StructuralEngineering #SteelStructures #EngineeringDesign #StructuralAnalysis  #CommercialBuildings #EngineeringSolutions  #StructuralDesign #ConstructionEngineering

  • The commercial building 🏨 in our scope. Sounds trivial. But in engineering terms, it was a two-storey civil building with a complex plan geometry, located in close proximity to existing structures . Now it sounds closer to reality. In this project, our work primarily focused 🧐 on steel columns, beams, girders for wall framing, and stairs. Our team executed the following types of work:  🔹 Structural analysis  🔹 Calculations of joints  🔹 Workshop and assembly drawings One of challenges at the project was that as a design assignment we had to use a set of common architectural solutions.  During the static calculation and further design, it was taken into account that a cast-in-situ concrete slab based on a profiled steel sheet would be used as the floor-to-floor overlap and coating. In this configuration, the slab acts as a rigid diaphragm, effectively integrated with the steel frame. Relevant design measures were taken to ensure the composite action of the slab and frame was optimized. For the design, a combined configuration of rigid two-storey transverse frames was implemented, formed by columns and main beams of the floors and roof. This approach was necessary due to the complex plan geometry and the immediate proximity to existing structures. A practical and very client-oriented example from our experience. #StructuralEngineering #CivilEngineering #Construction #SteelDesign #Design #BuildingDesign
