Scholarships, Fellowships, and Student Support

As a land-grant institution, we are dedicated to recruiting students from underrepresented backgrounds, including first-generation, Pell Grant eligible, and those with experiences in foster care or homelessness. We aim to significantly increase scholarships, fellowships, and professional development funds. Additionally, we will expand experiential learning opportunities and provide support for students facing temporary financial hardships. These efforts will help attract, support, and graduate deserving students while closing opportunity gaps and elevating their families.

STEM Training For K-12 Teachers

We strive to improve the quality of K-12 education in critical STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects—after all, the middle of K-12 generally is where young students’ interest in these disciplines either blossoms or fades.

We will help Washington schools become national models for STEM education. With funding, we will make our college a top choice for future teachers and administrators who want STEM to be a cornerstone of every K-12 student’s experience.

Fellowships and professorships will attract high-caliber faculty whose research benefits our students, the university, and the public.

Discretionary excellence funds will support pedagogical innovation and transformative research.
