⚡️Our CANedge XCP Python tool now also supports CCP! https://lnkd.in/djDeUK4X The tool lets you provide your CCP/XCP A2L file and a CSV with the measurements/signals you wish to record. Using this, the tool auto-generates a CANedge transmit list and DBC file. This lets you easily log your ECU data with the CANedge and analyze it with e.g. the asammdf GUI, Grafana dashboards, python-can, Vector tools, MATLAB and more. For CCP, the tool supports optionally the 'BYTES_ONLY' A2L flag (where initialization of multi-byte signals have to be done 1 byte at a time). For XCP on CAN, the tool supports CAN FD (incl. WRITE_DAQ_MULTIPLE). The Python tool also lets you add your DAQ transmit list to an existing CANedge Configuration File (incl. validation) and even lets you create transmit lists for multi-ECU communication. Today, the canedge-ccp-xcp tool is actively used by OEM engineers for both CCP/XCP data acquisition in prototype vehicles. If you have questions on using the tool, contact us - we are happy to provide detailed technical guidance to get you started. J1939 DBC 2025-09 revision now available! 🚒 🚚 🚛 https://lnkd.in/gnzmcNHT The latest J1939 Digital Annex released yesterday - and our new DBC is now ready! The 2025-09 revision adds several new PGNs vs. previous versions, including various OBFCM (On-Board Fuel Consumption Monitoring) related messages. The J1939 DBC file contains decoding rules for converting raw CAN bus data to physical values across heavy-duty vehicles like trucks, buses, tractors, excavators and more. It now contains 2,000+ PGNs (messages) and 14,000+ SPNs (signals), letting you decode all standardized data across most heavy-duty vehicles. The DBC can be used in almost any CAN software/API tools - including of course the tools for our CANedge series. The bundle includes a legal J1939 DBC & license, based on the J1939 Digital Annex Excel file (also included). This in provided collaboration with SAE International. #j1939 #canbus #telematics

🔌🚛 New: RP1226-to-DB9/DB9 Adapter Cable https://lnkd.in/dXxzBjin We have now added an RP1226-to-DB9/DB9 to our range of plug & play adapter cables for the CANedge series of CAN bus data loggers! The RP1226 14-pin connector is increasingly found in modern North American trucks incl. brands like Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack, Volvo and more. The connector provides access to #J1939 data at either a 250K bit-rate (S-CAN) or 500K bit-rate (K-CAN). This makes the RP1226 connector popular for diagnostics, telematics, fleet management and electronic logging devices (ELD). With this RP1226-DB9/DB9 adapter cable, you can connect both CH1/CH2 of the CANedge, enabling you to auto-detect the bit-rate on both CAN channels. This enables plug & play J1939 data logging across vehicle models. Bosch eBike XCP on CAN Data Logger with WiFi 🚴⚡️ https://lnkd.in/dA6yZCYS In our recent case study, Bosch eBike Systems use the CANedge2 as an XCP on CAN data logger. The team at Bosch needed to record everything off their eBike CAN bus - as well as record ECU measurements via XCP on CAN FD. Normally, the hardware required for this is very expensive and far too large/heavy for eBikes. However, the team was able to fully solve their use case with the CANedge2 (8 x 5 x 2 cm, 100G) - probably the most compact & light-weight option for this on the market. Specifically, they use our 'canedge-xcp' Python tool to load their A2L file and a measurement list. The tool then auto-generates a CANedge2 Configuration File with the relevant transmit list that will allow the CANedge2 to initialize the dynamic DAQ sequences required (and log them). Further, the script uses the A2L to produce the DBC required for decoding the DAQ-DTO response frames - thus enabling easy analysis/visualization via the asammdf GUI, Vector tools, Grafana dashboards and more. Streamlining our Amazon, Google & Azure #Grafana integrations ☁️ The most popular servers used by our CANedge end users are Amazon, Google and Azure - together covering 90%+ of use cases (the rest mainly being self-hosted MinIO S3 servers). Across the 'big 3' we support plug & play Grafana dashboard integrations, which we refer to as 'Grafana-Athena' (Amazon), 'Grafana-BigQuery' (Google) and 'Grafana-Synapse' (Azure). Historically we have primarily focused on our Amazon integration - and as a result, Google/Azure deployment was complex and lacked key features. However, with our new 'v4 update', all three cloud integrations are now 100% streamlined - relying on the same core modules. This means that all integration features are now available across both Amazon, Google and Azure. In particular, this adds the below new features for Google/Azure users, which Amazon users have had access to previously: 1️⃣ Backlog processing 2️⃣ Event detection 3️⃣ Custom messages/signals 4️⃣ Trip summary aggregation 5️⃣ Device specific DBC decoding 6️⃣ Support for encrypted log files In addition, a key advantage of Amazon has been the ability to auto-deploy the integration so that 'anyone can do it' in just a few clicks. We now also support this for Google/Azure (via Terraform) - reducing deployment complexity/time by 95%! Finally, we now also provide all our plug & play Grafana dashboard templates across all clouds. As always just contact us for 100% free technical support on updating your cloud integration - we'll get back in <24 hours. Grafana-Athena v4: Add trip summaries! 🛣️ https://lnkd.in/dczz4U-z With the CANedge Grafana-Athena dashboard integration, you can easily visualize the full-resolution DBC decoded CAN bus data related to a specific device via 'device dashboards'. This lets you easily go from looking at weeks of data - to troubleshooting an intermittent event with millisecond precision. Further, you can easily switch to another device via the 'device' dropdown at the top. But what if you wish to look at 'trip data' across multiple devices? For example, you may want to quickly get a list of all historical trips across all your devices - and filter them based on aggregated signal data and meta information (like VIN, ECU FW, geolocation etc). 🚧 For such use cases, the default data lake structure is not ideal as it splits data by device & CAN message - meaning you'd e.g. need to run 50 queries to show the average vehicle speed across 50 devices. 💡 Luckily, this can be easily solved by extending your data lake with 'trip summary data' - and with our new Grafana-Athena v4 update, this has become 100% plug & play. 📝 All you have to do is upload an 'aggregations.json' file to your S3 input bucket. In this you specify what signals should be aggregated across which devices. For example, on a trip basis you may want to get avg Speed, max Altitude, min/max/avg Oil Temperature and the first value of Longitude/Latitude. Once you've uploaded your custom JSON, simply enable the daily aggregation Glue script (in <5 seconds). ☁️ The AWS Glue job will now scrape your data lake on a daily basis, adding your specified trip summary data in a separate data lake folder - ready for visualization/analysis. 📊 We of course also provide a plug & play Grafana dashboard template for visualizing trips. This template can be fully customized - and lets you use Grafana's powerful cross-dashboard links to go from your trip overview directly into the full-resolution device dashboard, letting you analyze a specific trip in full detail. Sounds useful? Try it out yourself in our public Grafana dashboard playground! https://lnkd.in/ddDzsUbg This is an extremely powerful tool - and now 10x easier to implement than before.
