How to turn off iCloud on MacBook with Tahoe when buttons are greyed out?

How do I turn off iCloud on MacBook with Tahoe? When I toggle off the buttons on the iCloud pane in settings, the pane greys out and there is no option to confirm. All it allows me to do is cancel.

You don't say what OS you are using-- my Tahoe 26.3 doesn't have a dialog that looks like that--well, that I can find.

iCloud Photos Storage for a Mac is most easily set in Photos's Settings.

Alternatively, you can go to System Settigs>[name]>iCloud>Photos

and turn off iCloud Photos there.

Or, at System Settigs>[name]>iCloud>Photos>Manage>iCloud Photos

At System Settigs>[name]>iCloud>iCloud Drive, I get this:

Does your's look like this? Does this work?

Every time Apple sends out an update it gets more and more abusive.

Now, I noticed when I show albums there is a message at the top saying it is loading my libray from the cloud and this may take some time. But I don't sync my library using iCloud nor do I use Apple Music (subscription) becuase it absorbs your library and when you turn off Apple Music all your music goes away.

So now in settings the message, "sync your library with iCloud" is no longer there, yet Music appears to be using some kind of iCloud storage.

So the setting to allow us to control syncing our music with iCloud is gone. Again, another function of MacOS turned off by Apple forcing us to use their servers.
