To be successful in AI, we especially need startups. At #DemoDay we saw: Germany has got talented young researchers who are enthusiastic about transforming their ideas into business ventures. ✨ Last week, we celebrated the big finale of our nine months #AIFounderFellowship program. To honor our Fellows’ hard work and dedication, we put together a special agenda for them. We invited key players from the startup ecosystem who shared insights from their personal founding journeys. We also motivated experts to participate as jury members to vote on the best startup pitch. In addition, we were honored to have the Bundesministerium für Digitales und Staatsmodernisierung represented at the event: Thomas Jarzombek shared warm greetings in a video statement. Marco-Alexander Breit engaged in short discussions with each Fellowship team prior to their pitches. This underlinines the strong political support our program continues to receive. During the panel “Contrasting founder journeys” prominent speakers Julian Teicke (The Delta), Nicole Formica-Schiller (Pamanicor Health), Catherine Schreiber (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg), Dr. Anna Güntner (eclarity.io) and Prof. Dr. Marc Drüner (eduBITES) discussed what’s essential for bringing a business venture to success. Key takeaways: ✔️ Conviction, resilience and persistence are important qualities to succeed ✔️ For decision making intuition often matters more than data points ✔️ Put together a diverse team that shares a common vision ✔️ Stay in touch with fellow founders, benefit from sharing failures and successes ✔️ Have a plan, but stay flexible ✔️ Embrace your venture and focus on how to make money The highlight of the day was when our Fellows entered the stage and pitched their ideas with dedication and vision. Grauer Himmel, klare Visionen: Gestern kamen beim Matchmaking-Event in München 15 KI-Start-ups und 8 mittelständische Unternehmen zusammen – und es hat direkt gefunkt. Während draußen der Münchner Nieselregen durchs Fenster perlte, ging es drinnen um echte Probleme, frische Ideen und die ersten Ansätze für gemeinsame Lösungen. Viele Mittelständler stehen beim Thema KI noch am Anfang: Es fehlt an Know-how, klaren Prioritäten – oder einfach am passenden Sparringspartner. Genau dafür gibt’s unser Matchmaking: Schnell, direkt und auf den Punkt. In kurzen Pitches und ehrlichen 1:1-Gesprächen ging es um konkrete Use-Cases, echte Bedarfe – und wie man daraus gemeinsam etwas bauen kann. Das Ergebnis? Vertrauen, Energie – und jede Menge Potenzial für nächste Schritte. Und weil gute Ideen auch Anerkennung verdienen: Neben dem Austausch wurden zwei Awards für besonders mittelstandsrelevante Lösungen vergeben. Die Jury – Julia Bauer, Franziska Springer, Tanja Knoeller und Christoph Wirth – zeichnete Optiwiser A.I. Solutions mit dem KMU Impact Award aus. Die teilnehmenden Unternehmen vergaben den Mittelstand Impact Award an Aivy GmbH. Herzlichen Glückwunsch an beide Gewinner!
