Germany's innovation ranking has dropped to position 11 and we need to act to maintain our relevance. AI isn't just another technology wave; it's fundamental to whether we fall behind or lead. Innovation has fundamentally changed and startups are uniquely positioned to take the risks that corporates can't. ✅ Digital sovereignty isn't optional in today's geopolitical climate ✅ Crisis drives innovation and the pace of change is accelerating ✅ Small, agile teams with combined business-tech DNA move fastest ✅ Startups operate at risk profiles corporates simply cannot match Last weeks MISSION KI AI Founder Fellowship Demo Day had some Germany's AI future on full display providing a very inspiring afternoon at The Delta Campus! Six exceptional teams "graduated" from the acatech – Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften nine-month MISSION KI fellowship program and each delivered outstanding presentations on truly critical challenges facing industry today: 🌱 GREEN-DNN – Sustainable AI deployment for telecom 🔍 Tinytrace.ai – AI content verification for businesses ⚡ Aproxymade – Next-gen server optimization for AI 🧬 decyte – AI-powered early cancer detection via immune fingerprints 🏭 Kauzen – Industrial production error detection and cost reduction 🎙️ VoxFocus – Precision speech recognition for noisy industrial environments These teams exemplify what the keynotes emphasized: the power of combining deep technical research with business acumen to transform science into products. Reading recommendation: Factfulness - a great reminder to see opportunities amid change. Congratulations to all six ventures on their exceptional work. This is exactly the kind of innovation ecosystem Germany needs to build. #AI #DeepTech #Innovation #Startups #Berlin #GermanInnovation #DigitalSovereignty #DemoDay
To be successful in AI, we especially need startups. At #DemoDay we saw: Germany has got talented young researchers who are enthusiastic about transforming their ideas into business ventures. ✨ Last week, we celebrated the big finale of our nine months #AIFounderFellowship program. To honor our Fellows’ hard work and dedication, we put together a special agenda for them. We invited key players from the startup ecosystem who shared insights from their personal founding journeys. We also motivated experts to participate as jury members to vote on the best startup pitch. In addition, we were honored to have the Bundesministerium für Digitales und Staatsmodernisierung represented at the event: Thomas Jarzombek shared warm greetings in a video statement. Marco-Alexander Breit engaged in short discussions with each Fellowship team prior to their pitches. This underlinines the strong political support our program continues to receive. During the panel “Contrasting founder journeys” prominent speakers Julian Teicke (The Delta), Nicole Formica-Schiller (Pamanicor Health), Catherine Schreiber (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg), Dr. Anna Güntner (eclarity.io) and Prof. Dr. Marc Drüner (eduBITES) discussed what’s essential for bringing a business venture to success. Key takeaways: ✔️ Conviction, resilience and persistence are important qualities to succeed ✔️ For decision making intuition often matters more than data points ✔️ Put together a diverse team that shares a common vision ✔️ Stay in touch with fellow founders, benefit from sharing failures and successes ✔️ Have a plan, but stay flexible ✔️ Embrace your venture and focus on how to make money The highlight of the day was when our Fellows entered the stage and pitched their ideas with dedication and vision. At MISSION KI we’re very proud of how far our Fellows have come in just 9 months and what they’ve achieved. 🥇 Big shoutout Daniel Röder & Premtim S. from Tinytrace.ai and Julia Stachowiak & Hanna Roetschke from decyte for winning best startup pitch. 🥇 Congratulations to all Fellows for completing our program: Zahra E. Markus Sosnowski David Maksimovic Dr. Lukas Kaupp Alexander Zender Jury: Marisa Yasmin Krummrich (b2venture) Ferdinand Dansard (earlybird) Bauer (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft) Björn Sykora (High-Tech Gründerfonds) Oliver Hanisch (Campus Founders) Elisabeth Sabeditsch (The Delta) With our Fellowship program we want to empower founders, foster innovation, and strengthen the AI ecosystem in Germany. Huge thanks to everyone involved for supporting us in advancing our mission. 📍acatech – Deutsche Akademie der Technikwissenschaften I Bundesministerium für Digitales und Staatsmodernisierung 📹 MISSION KI / Christian A.
