    AI Agents can take over the design process? “I build a team of agents who do the full design job, from research to creation of visuals to full oversight” You might have come along one of these postings these days. They are countless. They are marketing non-sense. And they can result in significant business risks. Let’s have an honest look at some facts and why the story of teams of agents running the full design process is based on a misunderstanding of the capabilities of AI, an overestimation of the efficiency narrative and and the output quality an underestimation of the substantial business risks resuming from mediocre to bad quality on many levels. This posting is not about declining AI or agents in general. Not at all. Instead it is an invitation to use AI (and Agents) in an informed way and with a critical mind.

    What is the true price of AI and who needs to pay for it? And what quality do we get from AI if we evaluate honestly? In February SUX Founder Thorsten Jonas is doing the next Masterclass on „Sustainability & Ethics in AI“. AI can be a useful tool, but it is not for every use-case.     📣 Green IO 🎙️ Paris is happening 5 days! We’re down to the final days before we dive into “Build European Green IT.” Hundreds of European responsible technologists will gather at CNIT Forest (La Défense) on December 9 (Workshop Day) and December 10 to 11 (Conference Days)! 🌱💻 Why will they? To network of course, find clients and suppliers as well, but mostly because of a stellar line-up of speakers! 🕵️ Let’s have a glimpse from one of our NGO guests, Thorsten Jonas, who kindly answered our 3 questions: 1. What has triggered your decision to join Green IO Paris? Connecting with like-minded people when you want to drive sustainability and responsibility in the digital sector is crucial. Therefore, the Green IO conference is a "place to be" for me, because I know I can meet a lot of friends as well as meet new people, all aligned with the goal of making the digital space more sustainable. In addition for me as a person with a design background and tackling digital sustainability from the design and UX perspective, I really like getting together with people from other professions to discuss about ideas and topics. 2. Can you share one of the key missions of the NGO that you will represent during the NGO track? The SUX Network drives digital sustainability through design. We believe that design has the power to enable all professions in digital product development in creating more sustainable and responsible solutions by default. We, the SUX Network, provide a space to get together, as well as collecting and providing tools and frameworks to bring sustainability into design, as well as using design to drive sustainability. 3. What is the most surprising news that you will share with other NGOs during the NGO track? Well, would it be a surprise if I share it here? ;-) Ok, just kidding. I plan to present the next batch of tools from the SUX Playbook - and that would be the very first time then. Also, we are planning SUX Events in Amsterdam and London early next year, and I hope we are ready to announce them at Green IO. :-) Considering joining?     Two weeks ago, I had the huge honor to open up the beyond tellerrand conference in Berlin with my talk „Each Design is a Manifesto für the Future“. And great news: now the talk is also available online and for free. 💚 The whole conference was definitely one of my highlights of the year. All the other talks and speakers, the conversations. Everything. Next Beyond Tellerrand is in Düsseldorf in April and it is for sure on my list (and you should consider it as well - really mean it 🙌 ).     SUX Copenhagen - Impact Walk Last Tuesday we did a pretty spontaneous Impact Walk in #Copenhagen. An Impact Walk is about getting together during a nice little walk in a smalls group through beautiful places in the city. We chose a nice route along the water and ended at the famous Reffen Streetfood Market - with a beautiful sunset across the bay. We discussed a lot about AI and its impact to our work, but also our personal work situations. I personally love these type of events, because of the wonderful conversations and I hope to make that more often in the future. Big thank you to Christina Cassens for setting this up with me and Gul Bibi Nelly Hempel Kosei Oki for joining the walk! And speaking about potential next Walks: I will be in Munich end of October and I am thinking about doing next Impact Walk there. Stay tuned. Yours Thorsten
