YOUR RETROFIT COUNTS | An impressive example of how even older vessels can be upgraded with new technology to meet today's increased efficiency and sustainability requirements. The results of the STP 150 retrofit on ferry, planned by OSK Design, speak for themselves: - 15-17% fuel savings - +0.5 knots extra speed at the same engine speed - greater course stability and better manoeuvrability - significantly lower noise levels We wish her a safe journey!

Congratulations to Med Marine Holding A.Ş. on the successful delivery of the latest MED-A2800 series tugboat to towage company Svitzer Australia. The Robert Allan Ltd. designed RAstar 2800 tug, constructed at Turkish Ereğli Shipyard, is equipped with two SCHOTTEL RudderPropellers type SRP 490. The SRPs feature the mechanical hybrid propulsion system SCHOTTEL SYDRIVE-M which enables both thrusters to be operated with just one engine. This reduces main engine operating hours, resulting in lower maintenance costs as well as less fuel consumption and lower emissions. Thank you for your trust.  

The 2nd SCHOTTEL Expert Day took place high above the rooftops of Hamburg, Germany. The event brought together many industry leaders to present innovative and proven SCHOTTEL propulsion concepts for merchant vessels to them, with presentations given by SCHOTTEL experts and high-profile external speakers. During this on-site meeting, participants were given an insight into best practice examples and research & development, illustrated by a comparison of controllable pitch propellers and SCHOTTEL EcoPeller. We would like to thank all the participants who took the time and made it a successful mix of knowledge sharing and networking. Special thanks go to our external speakers Christian A. The April image of the SCHOTTEL calendar 2025 features the naval large tug Barkerville operated by the Royal Canadian Navy | Marine royale canadienne. Designed by Robert Allan Ltd. and built at Quebec-based Ocean / Océan, the tug provides towing, firefighting and other critical support services at the Canadian naval base in Esquimalt, British Columbia. It is equipped with two SCHOTTEL RudderPropellers type SRP 430 (1860 kW each).
