Das war’s vom Berliner Milchforum 2026! 🥛 Vergangene Woche durften wir wieder Teil dieses wichtigen Branchengipfels sein. Für das Team von Root ist der Termin ein fester Bestandteil im Kalender – und auch dieses Jahr war es großartig, bekannte Gesichter wiederzusehen als auch wertvolle neue Kontakte zu knüpfen. Besonders stolz sind wir auf die Fortschritte unserer Zusammenarbeit im letzten Jahr: Wir unterstützen deutsche Molkereien dabei, Daten direkt auf Betriebsebene zu erfassen und Emissionen gezielt zu senken. Das Ziel? Eine starke, zukunftsfähige Landwirtschaft, die sowohl Unternehmen als auch Landwirte spürbar entlastet.

At Root, we work with dairy, crops, and red meat processors across Europe to unlock farm-level emissions. Since the beginning, farmers have been central to our mission. Tens of thousands of farmers have now used Root to measure their carbon footprint, understand their emissions, and begin implementing reduction measures. We’ve always believed that farmers deserve a seat at the table of decarbonisation, because every farm’s challenges and reduction opportunities are unique. Over the past year, we’ve focused on creating the best experience possible for farmers. Some of the improvements we’ve introduced include: 📱 Photo uploads of MLP farm documents, letting farmers pre-fill assessments with accurate data in seconds 🌾 Dozens of new data entry options for feed types, breeds, herds, feed additives, and more, to improve both data accuracy and flexibility 🐄 Tailored action plans that allow farmers to select the most practical reduction measures for their farm As we reflect on the year, we want to thank all the farmers who’ve shared their time and feedback. Together with our customers, your input has shaped how Root evolves, and your participation continues to drive meaningful progress across the sector. This week, Root met with the Bel team in Paris at a conference organised by Bel Ventures to continue advancing our partnership centred on unlocking farm-level emissions data. Bel is deeply committed to climate leadership and long-term sustainability, having set ambitious Science-Based Targets (SBTi) to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2035 🌍 At Root, we’re proud to support Bel's decarbonisation journey. Today, Bel uses Root’s platform across dairy farms in Portugal, Poland, and Slovakia to collect verified, high-quality farm-level data at scale. During our visit, Root CEO Maurice Hensl joined Brechtje (Anna) de Schipper and Jean-christophe Girondin from AgroLeague on stage to present our ongoing collaboration with Bel, and the learnings we’ve gathered so far, to the entire Bel organisation. We also heard directly from Bel's dairy procurement team in Eastern Europe, who shared how Root’s regional localisations and adaptations make data collection more accurate and farmer-friendly 👨🌾 A huge thank you to the Bel team, including Caroline Sorlin and Orianna Compte, for making it happen! The visit was a powerful reminder that collaboration across the food & beverage supply chain is essential. Validierte Emissionsberechnungen entlang der Wertschöpfungskette Root Global hat sich mit Hochland, Ulmer Fleisch GmbH (Müller Fleisch GmbH), OSI Europe und einer globalen Restaurant-Kette in einem bedeutenden Pilotprojekt zusammengeschlossen, um zu zeigen, wie primäre Emissionsdaten von landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben erfasst, sicher geteilt und zur Berechnung von Emissionen genutzt werden können - vom Milchviehbetrieb bis zum Burger-Patty. Mit der Plattform von Root Global arbeiten alle Partner der Lieferkette auf Grundlage derselben verlässlichen Daten, was eine faire Aufteilung der Emissionen in jeder Phase ermöglicht. Das Ergebnis? Weniger Aufwand für Landwirte und eine einheitliche, vertrauenswürdige Datenquelle für alle Akteure in der Lieferkette.
