    "MuSt HaVe DoNe ThE eXaCt JoB bEfOrE." It's probably one of the most expensive lines in recruitment. Not because it's always wrong. Because it's increasingly solving for yesterday without looking forwards, to what is already here and to what is around the corner. In a world where AI is changing workflows, automating tasks, and reshaping roles faster than most job descriptions can keep up. The question isn't: "Has this person done this exact job before?" It's: "Can this person adapt when the job changes?" That's what this clip from my appearance on the 'Making AI Work — LIVE' with Personio is all about. 🎥👇 Too many hiring processes still prioritise: Years of experience Industry background Familiar company names Linear career paths They're comfortable signals. But they're not always the strongest predictors of future performance. The people who thrive in AI-transformed environments tend to demonstrate: ✅ Learning agility ✅ Curiosity ✅ Problem-solving ability ✅ Adaptability under uncertainty ✅ The ability to leverage new tools quickly The challenge isn't finding those qualities. It's assessing them consistently. Because skills-based hiring doesn't mean lowering the bar. It means being more intentional about what the bar actually is. One simple place to start? Replace: "Must have X years of experience" with: "Must demonstrate the ability to learn, adapt and solve problems in changing environments." Then build your interview process around proving that. Not assuming it.
