🃏 🎴 651 cybercriminals arrested in one operation! But more than this,AFRIPOL and INTERPOL's Operation Red Card 2 is a model for cutting cyberfraud and cybercrime at its roots. ⛓️💥 Interfere with recruitment. 🤖 Take criminals’ technology 💸 Seize assets 🚓 Arrest and prosecute The seven-week operation, run across 16 countries in Dec 2025 – Jan 2026, was supported by research and intelligence from the World Economic Forum Cybersecurity-hosted #cybercrime Atlas. More details in the comments. It led to arrests, seizure of technical infrastructure and, importantly - the disruption of the criminal recruitment pipeline that supports organised and high-volume phishing, identity fraud and fake crypto investment schemes. ⚖️ More than 1,200 victims were identified and the process of helping them obtain justice can now begin. I’m proud that expertise and Intelligence from the Cybercrime Atlas supported this operation across 16 African countries. 🌍 👟 What also matters is consistency. Operation Red Card 2 is hot on the heels of major joint AFRIPOL and INTERPOL operations in 2025 like Serengeti 2.0, also supported by the Cybercrime Atlas. 🌍 🌎 🌏 The level of coordination this takes is mighty and congratulations to the team at INTERPOL’s Cybercrime Directorate and its leadership Neal Jetton for making this happen (again). The #Cybercrime Atlas 🌍 , is a research collaboration of world-leading cybercrime and cybersecurity experts from more than 30 companies, hosted by World Economic Forum The Cybercrime Atlas community builds on the insights of world-leading experts from Fortinet and FortiGuard Labs, Microsoft and its Digital Crimes Unit, PayPal, Santander, Binance, Brno University of Technology, CFC, CleanDNS, Coinbase, Constellation Cyber, Cyber Defence Alliance, DarkOwl, Group-IB, ING, Intel 471, Lemon, Mastercard, Nisos, Okta, Orange Cyberdefense Recorded Future, Sayari, Sapper Labs Group, Scitum S.A. de C.V., TeamViewer, TNO, Trend Micro, WithSecure, 325X. Participants are invited to join the Cybercrime Atlas based on capabilties, expertise and the importance of their role in disrupting cybercrime across the internet. Our security and insights are powered by genius tooling from Epieos, Kasm Technologies, Maltego Technologies, ShadowDragon, Silent Push and SpyCloud. #Cybersecurity #Scams #Fraud #Cyberfraud

  • On this fourth anniversary of the war in #Ukraine, we pause to reflect on what these four years have meant and to acknowledge the gravity of what continues to unfold. Today, we would like to highlight and recognize Bellingcat’s dedicated body of work focused on verifying attacks, documenting alleged war crimes, and telling stories that might otherwise be forgotten or overshadowed by events elsewhere in the world. The war in Ukraine has left a profound mark on how #OSINT is understood and applied in the modern era. Their reporting not only demonstrates the power of open-source investigation in real-time conflict but moves beyond individual incidents to examine how the conflict is documented, contested, and understood. It tracks patterns in human rights allegations, force movements, extremist activity, and infrastructure damage, drawing on satellite imagery, social media footage, and other open sources that now define the information environment of modern war. Taken together, this work illustrates how large volumes of publicly available data can be systematically collected, verified, and structured to build a durable evidentiary record over time. We are deeply proud to support investigators and journalists with #Maltego as they pursue this work. Below are several recommended articles that are well worth your time. We encourage you to take the time to explore Bellingcat’s dedicated Ukraine page and engage directly with their reporting. It stands as a powerful record of evidence, accountability, and the role OSINT continues to play in shaping our understanding of modern conflict. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eKt3fEzK

What does the analyst role look like in an AI‑enabled OSINT environment? The shift isn’t just AI “assisting” investigations. It’s AI, automation, and consolidation reshaping the workflow end to end. As automation takes on collection, processing, and pattern recognition at scale, analysts can spend more time on what drives intelligence outcomes: challenging assumptions, spotting gaps, applying cultural and contextual insight, and turning machine output into defensible judgments. At #Maltego, we don’t see the future of OSINT as human vs. AI. We see hybrid workflows in which humans guide, challenge, and validate machine-generated outputs, with accountability staying with the investigator. • In episode 23 of Human Element, Lindsay Kaye from HUMAN shares a leadership philosophy rooted in empathy, recognizing that life happens and work isn’t people’s entire lives. She explains that leaders who ignore this may hit short-term goals, but ultimately lose trust and long-term team strength. That mindset also shapes her team’s work. Instead of 40-page technical reports that rarely get read, they turned threat research into concise comic books, something anyone can digest at the end of a long day. It’s a simple solution to a problem many security leaders overlook: great work is useless if no one reads it. Listen to the full interview: https://lnkd.in/g9DhMnjZ
